I skipped Solo on theaters because the reviews were horrible, but it's available on Netflix now, so I gave it a go a couple of days ago. It's nothing amazing, but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I guess approaching it without any expectation is the key.
And if you want to play with something a bit more technical, I would recommend Pelican. As creimer said above: static is the way to go for a lot of people. You write your posts in markdown, then compile to HTML, then upload to your hosting. No database, no management, no worries, no patching.
NB. Is the new Slashdot CSS for myopic people? I'm sure everything is now 30% bigger?
You kidding? The print is much smaller now, I have to tell Firefox to make it bigger in order to read it without having to get my face closer to the screen.
There's nothing wrong with anonymous commenting in WordPress. I allow anonymous comments in my blog, in the sense that you're not required to register in order to leave a comment.
What really hurts are WordPress installations that allow any kind of comment and don't have a working anti-spam system. I personally use Spam Karma 2 and my blog is spam-free.
You click "send" and the entire document begins to fold into an envelope and disappear into the screen. I tend to send around 300 to 400 emails a day, and that would drive me insane.
The client for insane nuts. A teacher of mine at the university used this one. And yes, he was completely out of his mind.
If you use Gaim (and several other clients, but that's the one I use) there's a very nice plugin called Off-the-Record Messaging that allows you to encrypt your communications, no matter which protocol you are using (MSN, Jabber, Yahoo... you name it).
Not saying that the parent poster is right about this, but usually when you need to kill an American citizen without trial drones are pretty handy.
Some people are pretty good at dismissing that as background noise.
