    Well, they do mention the almond M&M's...

    If the spheroids are deformed in a second direction, into ellipsoids (in other words, stretched or squashed so the M&M shape is no longer circular when viewed from above -- like, say, an almond M&M), then the maximum packing density increases to 77 percent, more tightly than the simple neat stacks.

    Um, actually, it was the head of NASA that was making the decision to not make the trip to the hubble... a lot of the people above them are trying to pressure NASA into doing the mission.

    Well, stripping them for parts isn't a bad idea, however, actually planning on doing so is a differnt story entirely.

    We don't know what effect Mars will have on the equipment, how it will deteriorate over time or anything like that.

    No, Bush is pushing money into science to fund his reelection.

    However, the planned replacement for the hubble is rather poor. It's limited in it's spectrum compaired to the hubble. Which is something that has various people up in arms.

    Move, mobile. One live CD (as in, no installation, boot and run from the CD). Can also be used as a harmless intro to linux for windows users, without altering thier computer, or a lengthy install.

    Not low sales. Low profit margins. They're cutting the electronic, and licensed sets primarly. Which are the more expensive ones to make, electronic ones due to the cost of componates, and licensed sets for the costs of licensing.

    One could only wish that they would license out the mindstorm excluseive items to be built and sold by someone else.

    Various mars probes have failed not only in landing, but in thransit.

    It's better to over engineer it and make it so that it will endure more than you beleive it will encounter. It'll hit murphy's law anyway, but it may come out okay.

    Well, given the problems that present launches have with getting to Mars, I think that some steps backwards in design need to be made. Pull out the design of Voyager and learn why it lasted this long, and improve on it, to make something that's durable, like Voyager, with more modren information gathering techniques.

    Unfortantly, i don't think that the Voyager craft will meet up any systems, at least not while under power, as I think they have about 20 years left before thier power is gone.

    She has 98SE. Which, in my experiance runs well, and grants better compantibility with older programs than 2k or XP.

    There isn't anything wrong with 98, or 98SE for your average user on hardware that's of reasonable quality and spec.

    Two thirds of all probes to mars have failed.

    That's one hell of a record. Either the folks down here are real fuck ups, or the martians are lending a helping hand... and no human wants to take the blame...

    What are you reading?

    Bioware has stated they've got 3 projects in the works.

    1 X-Box game, Jade Empire.
    1 PC game, no title known.
    1 other game with no info.

    -all- of them are being done with thier own intellectual property.

    They'll likely use updated versions of the Aurora (NWN) or Odyssey (KotOR) engines for the games, because why make yet another engine. But they won't even be useing the same rules system, they're making thier own.

    Which is bullshit. We've got some CWD infections here where I live. This is a cause for great concern, because we also have a large number of elk ranches, and a respectable amount of white tail and mule deer.

    And guess what? We've also go wolves, who are well known to feed on the local elk.

    While I know that in the area talked about in the article the wolves have not interacted with the deer and elk, but there's other places where they have, in places where the wolf population hasn't been wiped out.
