    Aha - but while the foam disc gun uses stiff wheels, and flexible ammo..... just use flexible wheels with the CD. Some medium density rubber which can compress slightly... should work.

    The university I work for has a Gigabit connection to the internet through Cogent Communications. $10,000 a month. They had some initial problems with the connection, but it has been rock solid ever since that first month. Here's a link to our Network Status page.

    Motion computing makes a version of the M1300 tablet pc that uses a transflective display. That display works wonders outdoors. Call them up at 866-MTablet and ask about it. I've got the normal version of the table (writing this post on it right now) and LOVE IT!!! Only think i wish i could get was ink-enabled AIM. That would rock.

    iTunes will convert your mp3's to AAC with one click of the mouse. So no reason to limit an iPod to AAC only.

    Yeah they don't, but it's only $5 a month for as many tivos as you want. With my two DirecTiVos, that's a 10 year recovery time ($5/month x 10 yrs = 600) vs a lifetime service which they don't offer (299*2=598)

    the 4500 is obsolete - i've got a 4600 on my desk - it was $2200 for the 4600DN (duplexer and Network) and it's rated for 20something color pages a minute - does about half that in real life. Great printer - highly reccomend it.

    Actually when someone is talking about carbs they usually mean complex carbs. Eventually complex carbs get broken down into sugar, but not immediately. So eating a slice of bread is not the same as downing a cup of sugar.

    That's why nutritional labels break out simple sugars from the listing of how many carbs are in something.

    Oh my god - my satellite TV was delayed by more than 100ms! What ever will I do. I might be a few ms out of sync with my neighbors who are watching the simpsons on cable. They might get to hear all the funny jokes before i do.

    Get a life.

    Cable TV and Satellite TV are a 1 way experience. Non-interactive. And they'll stay that way for the forseable future.

    actually it's not just a plain ole dvd with the edges snapped off. The spiral is reversed on the disks so unless you wanna mod the drive motor to spin backwards so it can read normal disks.....

    I've been an Amex member since i was 18. I have never had any problems with them. A single phone call is all it takes to dispute any charge or problem i've had.

    Last year, I was traveling across the country paying for all my gas with my amex. I didn't bother to call AMEX before i left so they called me on the road (they have my cell number) to make sure that I did in fact still have my card.

    Sorry you had problems, but in my experience AMEX has been the best.

    There are actually stores out there that will refuse to take cards that have "Check ID" written in instead of a signature.

    My solution? I Sign it and write "Please Check ID". Know what happens if you don't either a) compare signatures or b) check my id? I ask for the manager and do my best to get you fired.

    On the other hand - I bough some shoes last weekend and the girl checked my id and compared my signature. Was quite thorough about it. So I wrote a letter to the store thanking them and her.

    Amen. My BF is just as much of a geek as I am. Although he doesn't approve of my flagrant usage of token-ring hardware, he does bring me tasty hardware from his job like old NSM CD Jukeboxes and random SCSI hardware from decomissioned servers.

    Now if he can just get me that APC Netshelter he keeps on promising me I'll keep on putting out ;-}
