If it's a black viewsonic montior, it's crap and will die a horrible death within 6 months of purchase. (usually by the electron guns shaking so hard you can't read the screen at all)
However, if it's a white viewsonic monitor, it'll work fine (3+ years straight with no problems)
Go figure. But yeah, their warranty does suck. The've sent us 6 or so of the black ones and every single one of their replacements have had trouble.
In 5 more years, at home photo scanning and printing will put this problem to rest.
You'll be able to reproduce the exact same picture on the near-exact paper. Might be a bit more expensive but no more wal-mart jackass telling you what you can do with pictures that you own.
What we really need is some kind of Firefox IE replacer installer...something that will: Install Firefox Install User-Agent Switcher with some pretty buttons (plus tutorial) Remove IE Icon Automatically set all email url links to go to firefox. Import the bookmarks, in the main folder.
I really think they're just trying to get it to where everyone will upgrade their hardware every year...and therefore not needing to worry about long term reliability.
But I think eventually they'll hit the intel roadblock of can't get an faster without breaking the laws of thermodynamics.
There's also a third problem...terrorism. Can your quadruple redundant system handle a fully loaded jet liner crashing into it? Or planted bombs on the inside of the plant?
Want to see something even more scary? (fiction, but I wouldn't *doubt* that this doesn't happen every day).
Watch or Read John Grisham's "Runaway Jury". In the movie, the jury selection for the defense is done by a team of investigators hidden away in another building. (audio and video are transmitted via hidden wireless cameras in the defenses clothing) They have PI's that shadow all the prospective jurors and dig up everything on them, then they have psycologists determining the body language of the jurors.
incredibly illegal and expensive, but in a case where a company stands to lose billions, why not?
Funny enough, we've bought some here at work.

even worse...a lot of banks use username/password/social security number.
So not only your bank account gets ripped off, they've get a nice, fresh SSN to steal the rest of your identity.

Have you tried switching user-agents using the user-agent extension?
Works fine on *most* sites that don't use ActiveX.

PC Gamer magazine is almost as good as pcxl was.
Dear ignorant mod,
Kali is an old school ipx over ip emulation software that used to be the BEST back in the day for War II.
Is Kali not free anymore?
The patent only covers GBA emulation on mobile devices. Not PCs or Xboxes. (or dreamcasts -- the best emu platform ever)
Just to keep someone from cloning GBAs.
I wonder if the patient covers the new DS though?

I hear they're the number one producer of bullshit in Utah!

Is there no way to make ActiveX run through firefox via a windows-only extension?
Surely the calls have to be somewhat documented in MSDN or the like....

Now with these 3Ghz+ processors where the heck is the integrated, cheap, good voice control software?

So are you going to replace the fan in 2 years after it fails from being run 24/7?
I should know, i've been through 2 already on a dell latitude c600...running seti@home will *kill* a cheap fan.

For some reason their spam filter seems to be missing...something.
I get the exact same spam message with the exact same
to: line
at least 40 times a day
Always something like
Sappheix Industries
or
Beta Industries
And the filter won't catch it. It puts it in junk mail, but won't filter it out before I see it.
It only covers mobile "low powered" devices...

Because you're talking to sales, not engineering.

and don't forget wonderful IE-only sites like

So basically it would work like NNTP does now?

That's why *I* stick to granny porn only!
No feds that way, and even if they do search, they'll have to work for it!!!

Unless he's got a HUGE washing machine, i don't think he'd be washing the curtain with any other items....

What they were missing was the judicious use of
"Terrorist"
as in,
"We need to catch this Terrorist."
