Everyone gets out of the way for my beat up, rusty 1968 Chevy Suburban. 3-1/2 tons of steel (albeit a little rusty, but nothing a little welding can't fix) and the meanest, ugliest car on the road. She's a beast, but I love her. Even at 7,000 pounds, her 350 Corvette engine (4bbl Edlebrock) can still pass a fair amount of cars. Of course, she doesn't pass many gas stations either.:)
I agree, less taxes and less involvement from the US Govt. They're already WAY to much into our business. They pass too many useless laws, stick their nose into Baseball, child rearing, religion, many places they don't need to be.
The size of the Govt is too big too, we need to scale it down, Police and Military, that's all we need them for. Privatize everything else and lower taxes. Get rid of Social Security, welfare and all other socialist programs, bring the country back to what it was when it was first founded (or at least the idea of it).
How about have a life of your own outside of your SO. Nothing makes me run faster than a "needy" male. I wised up after a relationship with a "nice guy" that was clingier than saran wrap.
Listen to the woman once in a while, the world doesn't revolve around you and your job. Even after you've gotten into her pants, it won't kill you to hear what she has to say.
Women can do things for themselves, if we want help, we'll ask for it.
There are times we want to go places with our friends, or alone. We're not plotting your demise, or out looking for someone new. Sometimes we need a little "space". No need to pout about it.
Be yourself, don't try to "impress" women with fabricated adventures, or your vast wisdom of every topic she mentions. I hate the "one up" game men play when I mention something. Or stalk off when my car has more horsepower, or I actually know more about the history of the classic Mustang (Ford) than they do. Face it, you don't know everything, neither do I, but I'll cheerfully admit it and listen and learn.
Not every woman wants to get married and have kids. If she tells you this at the beginning of a relationship, there's a good chance she'll feel the same at the end of it too.
This reminds me of the that movie from the 1980s with Richard Pryor (iirc) where he takes the 1/2 cent from everyone's paycheck. He gets an extra check and it's a million dollars or something like that.
I've tried several times to install Ubuntu, I can get through the install, but when it boots, it freezes up. I've tried this on several different machines to no avail. I think I'm Ubuntu cursed. =] It looks slick and easy to use, but the Linux gods just don't want me to use it.
I've been running Slackware for 10 years and for me it makes a fantastic desktop and server.
The dogs, cloned from a successful golden retriever sniffer dog, were the result of a $320,000 AUD project."
It would be cheaper to go to a shelter and pay $50-70 per dog and train them. Even if only 1 out of 10 get through the training, it's under a grand for the dogs, and however much for human pay to train them. Or, if they are so inclined breed a good bitch and male and train the puppies.
If I cloned my last dog (rott/lab mix) who sadly passed away 2-22-08 at age 12, there's no guarantee that I would get the same dog with the same qualities/personality.
Unfortunately, demonoid doesn't enforce these ratios. I think the admins have trouble policing the amount of users they have. Maybe under the new ownership this might change.
Demonoid is far better than a 100% public tracker, speeds are far faster, and torrents live a lot longer. Actually, I heard that demonoid came back on line this past weekend and was thrilled. It's been my favorite torrent site since I joined.
I've been a musician for over 20 years and some of the self-proclaimed "vocalists" I've run across need automatic pitch shifters so they can sing on key. Another percentage of them need heavy effects on their voice, ala sinead o'connor (sp?).
But then again, 15 years ago you needed to at least know a little about computers to use them. microsoft killed that, now they're going to kill what's left of needing a little musical ability to be a musician.
Just makes me glad I don't own a car made after 1968. All the talk of "black boxes" and tracking devices in tires makes me shudder. People are paying lots of money for technology laden cars (that aren't worth $20K+ to begin with) to lose their privacy. I don't miss onstar, I use paper maps or look up my directions before I leave. I feel no desire for cup warmers, seat warmers, a refrigerator in my glove box, doors and trunk that auto-unlock when you push a button, or a car that auto-starts with a button, power windows... My 1968 Mustang suits me fine, so does my 1968 Chevy Suburban, aside from the stereo/cd changer, there's no electronics (except maybe for the elec choke, points are a pain to tune) in them. Gas mileage is really the only drawback (but I live less than 2 miles from my work), parts are plentiful, cheap, easy to fix, (I rehupolstered my own car), no smog, cheap to insure and register.
Someone hit me a month or so ago, I've heard the "new cars are safer than the old ones, crumple zones and all of that", his car was completely totaled, mine had to have the valance replaced, the bumper bent back and re-chromed and weld the front fender. He also had more bumps and bruises than I did (I had none and wasn't wearing a seat belt). His airbags deployed "AFTER" the accident, like 1 or 2 seconds after. My audio power amp fell down in the trunk, that's been re bolted up no damage, the trunk was matted/padded (another one of my car projects). I shudder to think what would have happened if I was driving my '68 Suburban that day, they might not have gotten through the accident w/out going to the hospital, or the morgue. A small plastic car hitting a 7000 lb Truck wouldn't be a pretty sight.
I can check my own tire pressure thank you very much.
What will I have to fill up my recycle bin every week? I won't feel like I'm doing my part to save the earth! Plus the empty milk jugs will get lonely in there all by themselves.
Obviously you don't live in Southern California. Some drive 70+ miles one way to go to work. Why? Because no one can afford to live in the city anymore, housing is too expensive, it's cheaper to buy a house in the desert or mountains and fill up your tank every other day than to buy a $700,000.00 2br house.
The public transportation works well in some cities, but when you're as spread out as Los Angeles and San Diego you have little choice. But, we do it because we have 300+ days of sun a year. I'll pay the gas for all that Vitamin D and no snow/ice/rain.

Your a puss, I just saw Yngwie last week and he wasn't that loud. Your hearing isn't damaged enough yet...Give yourself 10 years or so.
I have the perfect solution for you. Stay home.
Only believe half of what you see and hear and nothing of what you read.
One of my english teachers made us memorize this in the 7th grade. It's words to live by.
Who's the more foolish? The fool who posted this or the fool who whined about this post in a postback?
Maybe you need a "HowTo" on picking better girlfriends.

Actually, we could thin the population by omitting warning labels on things. Problem solved.

I can't speak for most women, just myself.
With 51HP you have to PUSH it back up the mountain. That saves you gas right there!
Polyester car, it's just missing the chest hair, multiple gold chains and a curly perm.

All I can say to this is: "amen" You got it right.

Actually, if anyone here is a fan of early Metallica stuff, you might be interested in
Overkill
Exodus
Testament
Megadeth
Children of Bodom
In Flames
Then download Children of Bodom's cover of her "Oops I did it again" it's very funny.
I'd actually BUY one of their albums if they'd put out a decent one. They've been trend followers since their Black album.
I'd sooner spend 17.99 for an Overkill album.

Forget the automatically controlled cars that go 150MPH, what about that 4 hour work day?
Now that would be sweet...
