Some Nortel products have processoring units that run a flavor on Linux on them. I'm not sure if they've made their way into any shipping products yet.
Probably the same way as you determine if nearly every other product out there is worth your dough. Read reviews, ask your friends, try a sample/demo, etc.
If game makers don't provide some way for people to try out a game with demos, etc., that's their problem if they want to lose money. But that still doesn't give you the right to download the ISO freely off of Kazaa...
A problem in Gentoo-land that's coming up is that none of the big Java vendors ship JRE's that are compatible with Mozilla compiled with GCC 3.2.
From the review it sounds like Java is working fine in Mozilla on this new Redhat. Does Redhat use a Mozilla compiled under the older GCC, or did they get a JRE compiled with GCC 3.2. If the latter, anyone tried installing it on Gentoo?
Winamp 3 would be a good choice as well, if only because you can scale the interface to any size. When scaled to 400% it'd be pretty easy to hit the buttons even with a remote control as your mouse.
In United Devices Public Good Projects, rights to the research results remain with non-profit or government organizations that are dedicated to disease-fighting research.
Not sure exactly what that entails but it seems like the results will be freely available if you fall into one of those camps.
Aren't they inviting a lawsuit from God by publishing this? The restrictions regarding the speed of light are there to protect God's IP. By sharing the knowledge of how to get around these restrictions allows anyone to create their own Universes, which clearly violates patent #000000000.
Well that's hardly fair. Once you get past the first few pages, most of the results have nothing to do with VI the editor, rather they're VI the Roman numeral, Vi the person, etc.
EMACS isn't a Roman numeral nor is it anyone's name (hopefully).
I tried using GNUcash a while ago. I don't know about Quicken, but at least compared to MS Money it definately fell short. GNUcash does a fair of telling you where you've been, but doesn't seem to have any functionality of telling you where you're going.
For example, in Money I can put in a schedule of all my paychecks, bills, etc., as well estimates of my monthly budget (how much I spend on gas, dining out, etc.). Money can them show me a pretty line graph of a day by day estimate of what my balance is going to look like for the next month, three months, year, whatever. This lets me locate possible trouble points well ahead of time and plan around them, instead of risking overdrafting my account.
You can also put in all your loans, credit cards, etc. with their interest rates, and put in how much you want to pay per month. Money can split up that money and tell you the best way to pay things off while minimizing your interest payments.
GNUcash may have these features now, if so please tell us!
Well I really doubt the people who make those type programs would refer to them as "spyware" or "adware";) It'd be like Charmin calling it "crap wiping paper" instead of "bathroom tissue"...
Upgrading your CD writer drive via firmware is nothing new, it's been going on for quite a while.
Coincidentally enough, just last night I upgraded a 6x burner I bought for $10 to an 8x using the tricks on this page. There's info there for several older model drives.
They wouldn't care about your name, but your age and location would be pretty important for them. Age, for example, would help them decide whether to run ads for Stridex or for Geritol. Same idea with location, though probably to a lesser extent.
My view is that if you want to view their content, you should play by their rules. If you don't want to play, then look for that news article somewhere else. Too many people are still spoiled by the free for all days of the Internet...
It sounds like the ads are popups that appear when you visit certain pages. They don't actually modify the page you visited.
Now, I'm no fan of Gator, but I think if they lose this case it will be bad for all of us.
It's not a huge leap from going from "software that adds popups to a certain page without actually modifying the page is illegal" to "software that modifies the page is illegal", meaning any proxy software that blocks ads, for example, is suddenly outlawed... So would any software that doesn't run the JavaScript (i.e. Mozilla with popups disabled), etc. etc.

Those different numbers _could_ be referral stuff, but most likely it's just some random transaction ID.
And even if there is no ebuild available yet, making one is trivial for small changes. Ie. you have widget-3.0.0 installed and they just released widget-3.0.1, a simple "cp widget-3.0.0.ebuild widget-3.0.1.ebuild" is usually all you need.
Money can mean the difference between living in an apartment or buying a decent house. It can mean the ability to support new additions to the family. It can be the freedom to fly home to visit your family without having to worry about the price of the plane ticket.
Money may not buy you happiness, but it does allow you to pursue the things that DO make you happy.
Well, it wouldn't exactly strike fear into the heart of evil everywhere to see a giant guppy bearing down on you, would it? Anyway, looks makes be superficial and all, but as a taxpayer I want the stuff my money is spent on to look neat, dammit!
Usually when a company releases a software package, it comes out on Windows first. Those running Linux usually have to wait a few months for a Linux port to be released, if it ever does at all.
I praise this virus writer for releasing Windows and Linux versions of the software simultaneously. If only other companies would follow their lead.

I occasionally get AOL CD's in a nice little tin boxes. It's actually quite useful...

Otherwise Winamp 3 is a dog...
One of the bots mentioned is one that searched around of "Harrison" and got some preteen images.
Another bot mentioned looks for people who search for preteen images.
We need to get these two bots to cross paths. Then their owners will be so busy sueing each other they won't care what the rest of us do.
Not sure exactly what that entails but it seems like the results will be freely available if you fall into one of those camps.

Or worse...
"Touch here for Bush"
God knows what kind of prints you'd get...

This sounds like a job for RF1149.
No need for antennas, just an open window.

Of course we all know how receptive the USA is to Russians putting rockets in Cuba... ;)

No conspiracy here, move along!
There only appear to be getting rid of pre-recorded ones, and I say more power to them.

I remember file download program that let you view the image while it downloaded. That way you could cancel it if you decided it wasn't worth it...
