I really want to see this movie do well and be engaging for the audience...Arnold's lost a lot of his power to newcomers like Vin Diesel, and I think that a new Terminator Movie done right could smack thme across the face and say:
this is how and action movie should be made
still, though....I'm a lot more excited about the matrixes than T3:)
Having not read the article the following just came to mind:
Cisco recently purchased Linksys...Linksys makes networking devices for home and small business.
What would be the possibility of Linksys/Cisco building this capability into your own home router, ande giving the feds instructions on how to access raw logs after loggin in with a 3,000,000 bit key to stop hackers from exploiting the same backdoor? Suddently this becomes less about watching everything going over your ISP's DS-3's and more about what pr0n sites you go to on your own ADSL line.
hell, even over broadband it'd be annoying to have to sync my home directory with the.mac server... I've got at least 1GB of things in my Documents folder, almost 10GB in music, and god knows how much in the movies dir.
on another note, has anybody else noticed how much/. is reporting Apple news lately? I sense that this company is going to come back and really, really big...
I always try to weasel info out of the peopel at my local Apple store.
The other day I went in there looking at the powerbooks nad told the guy that "I couldn't justify the 17"pbook and the 12" wasn't much better than my ibook. However, I'd go for an updated version of the 15"
He tells me "dude, if I knew anything I'd tell you now, but I haven't heard anything"
Accodring to him the store employees at the Apple stores literally don't see any new products until the day they come in, and it's just sitting there on the shelf. True?
Enron: Kenny Lay tells his employees that the company is stable and fiscially sound. Immediately before speaking before his company he sold almost all his stock in Enron, saving his butt from the financial fallout soon to come.
Don't forget that entire reason the TOS's are there is for legal backing in the case of a lawsuit or if they have to boot you off their service. If you start using up too much of an ISP's bandwisth and they find out that you were running a game server or whatever then that gives them justification to cut your line.
It's just like blender makers that have to put on their blenders "NOT A HAT"......because some dumbass could wear it as a hat and have a shopped brain salad....that absolved them of the liability.
These junkets, freebies, tsotchkes, payolas, etc etc yadda yadda all comprise the grease for the wheels for a whole caste of underpaid newbie journalists looking for real writing jobs. Consumers all know this... don't they?
but TiVo has said that video streaming will NOT be a part of the current feature set. SonicBlue was sued primarily because they had a very "open" video sharing system on their boxes.
TiVo seems pretty gung-ho about not getting sued so they are watching their backs and keeping features down for now, at least.
from other articles that i've read a compariable linux solution to Shake would cost upwards of $10,000, compared to $5,000 for shake...sounds like a good deal to me:)
Some guy in my dorm must work for microsoft too. He gives out copies of everything that microsoft makes on CD for free. All the programs have names like Verbatim, Memorex, and CenDyne.
I've never heard of those programs, but they work for typing up term papers really well!

this is the first virus that I want....
I'll be damned if Norton will "Protect" me from the hoors of pr0n

...that it's really just going to be an opportunity to get drunk with Jobs and listen to Doobie Brothers really loud
I guess my submissions of http://www.microsoft.com didn't win after all... :(

2...
3....Profit!!
I'll take QuakeCon any day over that.
This year Quakecon will have 2000 BYOC attendees and estimated 4000 total attendees.
Dallas will swell and pop from all the nerddery
I'm just curious if this still works....Do they have he machines locked down more now or something?
:)
I'd like to have keynote

I present, for your consideration, Kangaroo Jack
yes, but you are forgetting the wonders of sporks
A few months back Newsweek did a cover story on the Matrix movies.
read it here
that's a good idea....perhaps it will help them boost their market share!
that thing is really ugly. why couldn't they make one that looks like a regular damn backpack or messenger bag rather than that thing.
It brings to mind the Ghostbuster's proton pack
no, but tivo is using open technologies and will most likely have some type of developer kit
