Is it wrong that as fast as things as changing these days, part of me still hopes for one of these '1000x faster in 5 years' technologies to live up to its full promise?
I know it's coming; if not this tech than surely another one... I guess one hopes to live in interesting times, and I still dream for the day I wake up and there's a computer for sale that shatters Moore's Law. A computer 1000x faster than what was available the day before.
Technological limitations aside, this is the first time in several hundred years that we have had a further shore to sail to... a place where no man has gone before, as the saying goes.
That has to count for something.
For me this is the most profound discovery in the history of us. Without hyperbole. The only thing I can see superseding it is, of course, the confirmation of life itself out there.
I think we need a further shore... and I'm glad I lived to see a new one.
... would be something the size of a softball that holds 100 MJ of energy in a physically stable state. Your flying car would be months away from the date that kind of energy storage is announced.
My 2.5 year old Samsung 275T monitor is currently retailing at the same location for appox $75 more than I paid for it at purchase. In 30+ years of building systems I think that may be a first.
(Freaking great monitor, btw.)
Some of this is of course due to currency fluctuations, I think... never seen a piece of hardware increase in price over time before.
If you're approaching a large commercial ship of any kind, plying its trade in the waters off the coast of East Africa, and you continue to ignore the many and varied warnings to do otherwise, you deserve to get shot. The innocent people you're concocting out of thin air for the sake of juvenile, devil's advocate, argumentation... is breathtakingly naive.
I have a feeling you're a part of the Confetti Generation.
You have the chance to do some really extraordinary things with Diablo 3. Hiring Leonard Boyarsky as lead world designer, seemed to this long-time crpg fan a potential masterstroke. Although neither Diablo games have ever been fully accepted as "true" crpgs by many, they are undeniably fun games in their own right. Many of us still play them both on occasion.
The one thing I, and I would think many other long-time fans of Diablo would like to see... I would like to still be discovering new secrets and mysteries the game holds for years after release.
WoW is many hundreds of times larger geographically than Diablo 2; it's much easier to build very large worlds in 3D. What are your plans/ideas for taking Diablo 3 to the next level in this regard?
You can play older crpgs many times without even seeing the entire game world. Mr. Boyarsky has already helped design such deeply realized games before. (Fallout(s). Arcanum. Etc.)
You have the chance with D3 to put a lot more "rpg" into the Diablo franchise... any plans on doing so?
I would love to be discovering new areas, new quests, and new adventures, 5 years after D3 is released.
"Mods just left it because it was true but didn't want to see me get flamed into oblivion by WoW fanboys like yourself that can't take any kind of criticism of your beloved game."
I don't recall there being a referendum on whether the general public would like to inhale synthetic DNA daily. I might have been sleeping.
Needs to be said, however trite, but tech like this is far, far beyond anything Orwell imagined.

Faster, please.
(and thank you)

Is there anything easier to find for free online?
Indubitably. It filled with hope the one that no one thought Elo would have been bettered done so quickly.
Frank Stallone!
Optronics. Positronics. Cybertronics. Moleculartronics.
We need to build more Research Labs.
...Sirius did it!

extremely thick and luxuriant hair, it seems.
Pantene Pro-V? It has to be.
Now, where did I put my 30MB "full height" 5.25" drive...
You're "sitting" on it...
Now you're thinking with portals.

Our chief weapon is surprise... surprise and fear.
And ruthless efficiency.
No.
There's no trick to it.

Are we really that politically correct now that even killing a pirate is wrong?
Pirates. Not a down-trodden minority.
Kill them. All of them.
It's the right thing to do.

These units will be named something clever. They will come in different flavors.
They will be designed as components; primarily used to comprise a greater whole.

Is this the direction you are planning to go?
... will allow Goatse to spread even further...

I, for one, would have modded you down.
Hard to pull off... too much back and forth with the plot.
Well said.
