The scissors on my micra stopped working properly because the spring got gummed-up (not because the blades dulled - they didn't)

Anyway, I discovered a trick for cleaning out all the gunk. It fixed the scissors, and made the micra look like new. Soak the thing in bleach for about an hour.

Also, advice to potential micra buyers - only buy the steel colored ones. the other colors are painted on, and that paint chips off, leaving you with a shitty looking micra.

It's a nice mix of technical and not-technical. about 1/3rd of the stuff I saw looked like stuff I would have loved to have played with as a kid (i.e. if you're technical enough to handle model rocketry), and another 1/3rd is moderately technical. Another 1/3rd is product reviews and recommendations - like an explosive drain clog remover that uses CO2 cartriges.

The actual projects have step-by-step instructions, so I assume you wouldn't need to be technical at all to do them. The list of items for some of them is pretty intense though, like the kite photography howto, makes me wish they offered kits.

Overall I think it's an awesome magazine and I hope it lasts.

I think it does a lot of damage to equate the real serious problems in China with minor hiccups in the U.S. Our government is not corrupt. We do not abuse our citizens, control what they hear and see. There are people out there who don't have the freedoms that we take for granted and that's a real tragedy. Bush might be an idiot, some fishy things might have happened with Halliburton, and the Patriot Act is a travesty, but don't pretend this is even within an order of magnitude of what goes on in China.

I can explain this for you. Everyone feels that whatever sort of work they do is superior to the type of work everyone else does. White collar people feel superior to blue collar people because they are rough and uneducated, blue collar people feel superior to white collar people because they are soft and lazy and don't know how to change their own oil or catch fish. And sociologists feel superior to of all of them, because they think they are the only ones who understand the whole thing.
