    My old Radeon 7000 couldn't run Madden 2003 in high-res with AA, so I bought a 9700, which does. The performance increase is from about 5fps to 70fps. A little more than 3.

    At least puntloos admits to not reading the article. what's your excuse for not reading his post? Puntloos was talking about the fps difference between the 2 cards being reviewed, not between two different-generation cards...

    Return to Castle Wolfenstein and UT2003... Only got a 32MB Geforce 2GTS.. Frame rates are slightly better on Linux (well, I can adjust the video quality up a bit and get the same frames as on my Win2K partition).

    Yeah. The aticle says that the extra security instructions could be 'enabled' by the user. So I guess you just disable the 'security' and away you go...

    Hehe... that'd be great. Software that offers the look and accessibility of Windows software (that everone is familiar with), but that can't be run under Windows. The ultimate stab in the back.

    Kinda like the rumours that MS put bad code into Win95/98 so that Netscape wouldn't work properly...
