playing around with tools is one thing, using them to launch DDoS and other attacks is another. You may be playing around with them, but you know what damage they would do if set loose, hence you might be the type to stop short of launcing an attack.

I appear to say that "dysfunctional family" => "kid crime." In a way, yes, that's what I'm saying. There will always be those that start trouble regardless of family life, and those that resist despite being ignored growing up. It's very common, however, to hear stories (like Mafiaboy, or most school shooting incidents) where lack of family surrounded the person in question. It's just all too common.

  2. article illustrated something about family... on Tracking Mafiaboy · · Score: 5, Insightful

the article showed something about a family's influence. Mafiaboy's father was a business type that cared little about his kids, resulting in some problems for them, as shown in Mafiaboy's DoS actions and problems in school (suspensions, expelled from one school, etc). During the investigations of the DoS attacks, they found that the father was trying to hire a hitman to kill a business associate for getting screwed on a deal.

If anything, it shows why good family life generally fosters good behavior in kids. I wouldnt be surprised if other 5r1p7 k1dd135 out there have similar family life to that of Mafiaboy.

you hit the nails right on the heads. people keep thinking paranoically about these things, yet forget where it's place is. kinda like that FBI criminal fingerprint database. that system generates a bunch of "possible" matches for a given print. after that an analyst takes the probable matches and examines them by hand. I wouldnt be surprised if the investigator is required to obtain an actual dead-tree print instead of a computer image after using the system, given the limits of resolution in an on-screen image. it's like you said, it's only a guide, not what's sending people to jail.

There was a death in Wildwood (a shore town w/ boardwalk) about 5-7 years ago where a maintenance worker was killed when he was kicked in the head by a passing coaster. well, i'm sure you've heard some things about recent Princeton Reviews....

Drexel recently was #1 in "Campus is small, unsightly, or both" in Sept 2000, then #6 the next.

Same Sept 2000 Drexel was #19 (or was it 15?) in "Dissatisfaction with Financial Aid" Following year was even worse, something like #7.

Right now campus looks horrible. They're building an addition to Matheson between the building and the 33rd St Green Line entrance, its fenced off and you cant get to the quad that way (there will be an underpass when finished). They built a small gallery behind Nesbitt, was more fencing, but that finished last month. They've moved the trucks to Ludlow (after repaving Ludlow) and are tearing up 32nd St by Main to build a park and it's all fenced off (I actually have a funny story about that, triangle's website unfortunately seems to have lost my commentary on it - the link points to the wrong story). The president's mansion (next to Van R) is being renovated into a student center, and yes more fencing there. Drexel just obtained the permits to build on that triangle by the Firestone, they're planning a small "Drexel" signage, most likely more fencing to appear. Spring Jam is this weekend, and no doubt fences will appear closing off the field from outsiders.

They also closed off the basketball courts behind Calhoun so they could store construction equipment for everything. They would've used the old laundry lot (32nd & Powelton), except residents complained. Hope the PVCA realized they shot themselves in the foot because Drexel then took away the court many of their kids use.

Yeah, things are a little rough around here logistically. Hopefully all this should be done by the end of summer so I can at least enjoy myself and not worry about hard hat areas for my senior year.
