the company I work for was averaging 300k a day, bit down about 66% this week (there was a significant drop in August however). I attribute it to people getting new PCs and taking their old spambots off line...
Freddie and Fannie (gov't insurers), and Gov't threats of more regulation pushed banks to make loans to people who couldn't afford a home is what caused the housing crash.
Yes banks got greedy in the end, because, hey, the gov't is going to back the loan... thanks for proving his point.
I was also in the beta, color me unimpressed, the graphics were very nice, but customization & controls are horrible. I see this one being an absolute failure, and I really wanted it to succeed...
to buy their votes? half of the US population no longer pay income taxes, a large chunk of those are reliant on the govt for survival. keep em dumb and happy and they will vote for you every time. The Roman's called it bread and circuses
as others have mentioned, the "()" aren't being used right to begin with... they are usually used to hold another equation that should be calculated before continuing on with the rest of the equation... i.e. 6 + (12/3) = 10
There is no reason for them to let go, that's the point, the gov't has provided (and will continue to expand) the copyright protections because of a damn mouse. so even worthless material is worth keeping just in case someone else tries to make a buck off of it.
when I was in college, one of the requirements was computer class. I knew nothing about a computer, what I was taught was how to work a spreadsheet, I almost failed the class. Because of that experience I didn't touch a computer for ~10 years, until I finally broke down and purchase a 486dx2. If only I was taught something 10 years ago, it might not have taken me that long to truly appreciate them.
I could care less about Mickey. It's the hidden music, art, and books sitting in corporate vaults, under copyright, that don't produce enough revenue (in the corporation's eyes) to keep them on the shelves.
I could care less about Mickey. It's all the music, art and books that are way less "popular" that are hiding in vaults that the public eye will never see again because they are under copyright (by corporations), but at the same time, not cost effective to keep on the shelves.
If a recorded item, writing or whatnot is considered valuable, then the owner should have to buy a license to keep it out of the public domain after a reasonable and free period of time (like the original 7 years). after the free period is over the owner would have to make a determination if the item is valuable enough to pay for to keep it out of the public domain. This protects Mickey, but releases a whole slew of recordings and books that have no commercial viability.
I see what you did there

What? didn't you ever play Red Rampage?
yeah, you don't want to know where they put those...
Yep, it sucked then and it still sucks, kind of like network television.
yup sucks so bad that it has dominated the market for the last.... what... 20+ years?

How's that Hope and Change going for you?
how are you supposed to FIND new music is the bigger question..
"prohibits minors from purchasing ultraviolent or sexually violent video games without parental consent."
I have no problem with this. Parents are supposed to be responsible for their children.
And the alternative is? Linux? STILL not ready for grandma's desktops. Mac? overpriced and neither have the software support of Win based machines.
they wouldn't need federal funds to finance it, private corporations would foot the bill.
there has been more advances with adult stem cells anyway
I wonder if the person that modded you down was paid to do it...
If they had, they would have moles in these communities that would be well versed in this "dialect"
do the local papers also have to pay this tax? serious question...
since when is "no criminal intent" an excuse?

Kinda like dead people voting in elections?
