    Not my company. Every year I get striped of more and more benefits. My insurance premium goes up and it's coverage goes down. Raises seem to get smaller and bonuses are smaller if they happen at all.


    Try having a "real" job (ie not tech related)! I work as a car mechanic... we get no respect unless a friends car is acting up, hazardous working environment (chemicals), 1 week vacation (if I stay 15yrs I get 2 weeks!!!), no retirement (401k etc), weak health related benefits (flex), zero paid sick days, 4 paid days off all year (Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving and I think Easter), 1 bereavement day etc etc etc. Quit your bitching, enjoy your comfy chair and go back to work. ;)

    You realize that the virus does nothing on a Mac, right? To a mac, it's just a file.


    How many other unknown files ship on an iPod? OS X is not perfect nor inpenetrable...

    Just nothing the heat down 4degF made a different in my heating bill (nat. gas) of almost 8%. Not bad. (now set at 64F)

    fedora core 4 running on my p3 500mhz with 192mb ram (ibm thinkpad 600x) is much slower (gnome) than win98 was. :/

    All they really did was validate you wanting to leave. Giving 2 weeks notice in writing through the proper channels (as you say you did) is enough. If they are not preofessional enough to deal with it; fine. You did nothing wrong.

    my sister and her husband moved from west to east for a company making silly decisions like this. 3 horrible years later... he is working elsewhere (for a much larger company) making a lot more money. they both say that if they could do it again, they wouldn't.

    Old ipodders are getting the jitters to replace their 5 and 10 gb models and will probably be happy with these devices are they are used to not having their entire collection on the road with them.


    I gotta call BS on this one dude. I have a 10GB iPod and all I can think about it is getting a nice iPod Photo so I can have all my data backed up onto it (my iBook has a 60GB hdd).

    *sighs*

    I hate being poor at the moment... so many toys I want... :-/

    ride off the middle of nowhere, camp under the stars, snap a few pics, get lost, find yourself and return home when ready. nothinig like a good soul cleansing from time to time.
