If it makes less people willing to use flash then less "developers" will want to use the thing and perhaps it can start dying a well deserved death.
I'm sorry, maybe I don't get your point. Are you saying someone doesn't qualify as a developer if they use flash for a particular project? I'm not positive, but the last time I checked, the only viable alternative for a media rich application which must be delivered via a web browser and was cross platform compatible was a java applet.
This is not intented to nock java, but show the lack of availible options. Flash can be a good choice and was actually starting to become real usefull. Its a shame to see something like this happen.
Oh thats easy mam, because your product sucks, forcing me to uninstall and reinstall it to get it working again. Its considered standard maitnence for windows machines.
In its announcement on the World of Warcraft community site, Blizzard stated its policy against the buying or selling of the game's objects for real-world money. Its goal, which many MMO developers share, is keeping the game pure from an inflated economy and from players who buy game attributes rather than earning them. And they often claim that such objects have no real-world economic value.
The old saying "Time is Money" works well here. These objects cary real-world economic value if they are required to get to the next level, and the individual playing the game doesn't have the time to find them, but would like to "level-up." In this case, the real world price he pays for said item would have to be worth less than the time it would take him to find said item. In some of these games, the time to level starts to expand exponetialy. This is what I think draws the secondary economy to the game.
Back when younger we were supposed to LEARN the history...:)
I agree with this, to a point. The big things like the major wars (why and what for) and polical ideals and so on we should learn. The minor points such as dates and who cooked apple cobler in maine on the second of november etc is pointless to memorize. We should learn the major concepts, and know how to find the details when we need them.
Hogwash! Did they help pay for the existing infrastructure that they get to take advantage of?
Ok, I'll bite. Did you? I will venture a guess that you did not. They are indeed paying more than their share. This is the price they choose to pay by being allowed to work here. And that additional money is helping fund our current educational program (property taxes). It is also helping to build the new infrastructures which they will most likely not be around to use.
Please stop looking for an excuse not to like immigrants. It's foolish and sophomoric. This is America. Wether you like it or not, new people are going to move here. The more time you spend trying to stop it, the less time you get to spend doing anything meaningful with your life.
I target only Linux, and refuse all other jobs.
This will be your failure. I'm happy your business is growing and may soon support you without the need for a seperate full time job. However, please remember the number one rule of consulting... Always use the right tool for the job. Do NOT try to shoe horn the job into your chosen tool of choice. Doing so will eventually lead to failure.
No biggie. Every MTA provides a feature to use a "SMART HOST." This is exactly the point of this. INBOUND port 25 does not need to be blocked, just outbound for this to have an effect. Home user's running their own mail server should have nothing to fear assuming they set their servers up to use a smart host.
Honestly, whats one more hop? Play nice and let your ISP know you are doing it. If your not a hastle to them, I bet they won't care. I've been doing it for years.
I again find myself referenceing Uncle Orson. What about "The Game?" This is the type of game I would love to play. The game adjusts itself depending on how you react and it is different for everyone!

Anyone seen CFML lately?

It should count, considering Microsoft loses money on each XBOX they sell.
That's why they're complaining.
Hrmmm, if Apple would license their DRM, they wouldn't be in this prediciment to begin with.
This review shoud just about cover it. Battlefield Earth is the "worst movie ever."
Like Hawaii would survive on its own now. It would be like that nation of the coast of New Zeland.
The US is building the Forth Reich and aparantly, other then the Arabs nobody seems to care.
It must suck to live in this state of paranoia that you seem to be in.
If your going to quote a movie (Rounders) get the whole quote :-)
"If you can't spot the sucker within the first 30 minutes of sitting down at the table, then its you."
Was it not DreamWorks that was behind pirates of the carabian?

judge that has even a portion of a clue
While I aplaud your statement as a whole, you have to know better than to think lawyers have any idea what they are talking about.
This type of content would fit wonderfully in "Ask Slashdot."
That's exactly why it IS here!
I a FreeBSD bigot, but I a very impressed so far.
misplace that "m" key there?
We could use this in chicago to replace the couches and lawn chairs more commonly used. They require manual labor to move out of the way.
This is without a doubt the worst movie ever made. But Super Mario Brothers is definatly up there.
I think an online team based game using the battle room as inspiration would be great. Lets just hope Warner Brothers does right by Orson...
