Are you using IBM "Deathstars" or Seagates by chance? I've been using a Western Digital and Maxtor, have had 0 problems. The WD is a 10,000 RPM SATA, and despite the heat it throws off it still works perfectly.
Heat and insufficient power can also be factors of peripheral failure.
that 512MB video cards won't be hiting anytime soon, except for AGP? If my system can have 1-2GB of RAM, then my video card would need very little on its own.....
I too would like to see an OS X-native version of OOo, but I don't think that'll arrive until after version 2 is out. In the meantime, I'll just stick with TextEdit.
Wait, so MS has the patent on CSS and yet their own browser doesn't support it? Huh?
^_^

you're replying on Slashdot, are you not? ;)

I'm lucky if I get more than 5 hours of sleep.
I weigh 140, and that's up from 130 earlier this year..... (5'11")
Same reason why I cut up my credit card and got a debit card. Now I'm much more financially responsible.
thank you
i've taken a few CS classes, but i've learned all about programming and such on my own. most of us prefer it that way.
Another vote for Adium. My brother showed it to me months ago, by far my favorite IM program now.

For alot of people, it's the increasing availability of TV shows on DVD that lets them skip the cable/TV....
/nevermind
filled with cottage cheese?
Airheads
I guess you've never heard of the SidStation.... Many electronic artists like the sound chips from consoles, they are unique in many ways....

"In short, by saying 'I know where everything is' you are working round a shortcoming in your Finder/Explorer/File system."
I can't agree with this
Or maybe I simply don't have hundreds or more of personal files like everyone else seems to have.....
'We're all diehard Macintosh developers here, but we recognize that Windows is the dominant platform,' Rose said in a statement.
What a fucking hypocrite
I agree; I know where everything is.
If you need help finding your files, you need to start organizing better or quit downloading so much pr0n, music, etc.
