i don't think Steam can
the first big preloads for HL2 were the artwork and sounds, which Valve stated were set and wouldn't change. the most recent preload phase downloaded the maps of HL2, as those were likely worked on most recently. now, the executables are being worked on.
as the files are mostly huge.gcf files(encrypted compressed format), i doubt small changes could be made.
It's not his fault his supervisor/IT person was stupid enough to give him enough access to install adittional app(s). At work I've installed Firefox and Ad Aware, you think I should be fired for that?
1. I didn't have the checkbox marked to allow websites to install software; that might seem obvious to others, but shouldn't the auto-update for Firefox itself be a separate thing?
2. As this was a security update, I don't really mind that it checked; it was quite unobtrusive, unlike other software......
If one service ever got popular enough, major artists could sign directly to Apple and sell their music WITHOUT signing to a major label! The music industry will sure to bring down ANY service that starts to get that much power.
Unless one of the record companies owns Apple and I wasn't aware of it, they will not be able to shut down iTMS.
If record companies threaten to leave, well then fuck them. Musicians are tired of being screwed out of money they deserve. If Apple is able to deliver their work to listeners around the world with a better system, why don't they sign the artists themselves? I think it's a great opporunity for Apple.
or anyone. Lucas is still too fascinated with technology to tell or direct a decent story. He might have been slightly humbled enough to make some slight changes in the Original Trilogy DVD set, but it's not enough. We need a writer/director with the balls to kill some main characters, introduce real conflict, etc. Not the cute crap we got with RotJ or TPM.

I finally sat down to watch the Star Wars trilogy again (it'd been years), and this time it just didn't seem the same. Darth Vader nor the Emporer seemed that menacing, and Luke and Han didn't seem as heroic. Maybe as I'm getting older I'm turning towards Star Trek, Babylon 5, Farscape, etc. which has much better writing, people who actually care about the characters and story and such (yeah, I know Star Trek is having its problems now). Plus, I hate to admit it but the aging special effects are also a factor, even if not a great one. Honestly, I enjoyed seeing Episode II more, but that's just me.......
it's called early development; the 2.6.x kernel is very different from 2.4.x, and they're quickly working on issues. you rarely see patches for 2.4.x anymore, since it has had alot more time to mature. the same will happen for 2.6.x, and then eventually 2.8.0 will come out and start over. welcome to Linux
our votes don't count anyways....
1. Run SETI@Home
2. Run Folding@Home
3. Run a Counter-Strike Source Listening Server
4. disconnect the fans
5. pry the CPU heat sink off
no, the full game was sent to VU

/sorry
the force is not strong with this server
wow, issues?
as if my GPA wasn't in enough danger with Counter-Strike Source released. oh, and also started dating someone.

Is this fucking Star Trek or something?
I'm willing to let the Genesis and DC share top place. They're both Sega afterall ;)

1. It can detect I need the update, but when I click next to download and install, it just sits there
2. I don't have the checkbox marked to look for Firefox updates, but it checked anyways.
what is this sex you speak of? ;)
That's a Star Wars parody...
Dear Mom and Dad,
Thanks for everything.
PS That's not my porn.
So Deus Ex IW will run at a smooth 60 FPS now?

the worm is still crawling on the Emporer's head; that would've been the first thing I'd have edited.....
As much as I want to use Firefox on my mac, I've had no luck getting it to import my bookmarks from a file. I click next, and the window closes.
Are those breasts real?
/cops a feel

I just built a Doom 3 machine w/ an AMD 64 3000+ :)
The game runs like gravy, and of course a few others(Far Cry, UT2K4, Deus Ex: IW, etc.)
