2) Hey, I live my entire life in a First Person perspective. It's also action-based (usually boring actions, mind you) and often involves pushing a lot of buttons and using a variety of keys. So no wonder the FPS genre enjoys large amount of popularity.

Would you first establish a functional democracy in your own country, please? Or did you mean puppet regime? Well, you've already established the previous one in Iraq. That didn't turn out so well, did it?
Hey, I'd say that Britain still has a functional democracy. And you can't keep blaming them for their colonial past forever. Yeah, they messed up Iraq way back when, but now they're helping to fix the problem.
A television show where unknown artists compete for widespread exposure and a lucrative contract? Sounds downright constructive to me. Certainly nothing to be ashamed of.
Aren't most of these terrorists and insurgents captured after gun battles or worse? I'd imagine many of them are already mortally wounded upon capture.
Not that the Iraqi people give a damn, anyways. They want those terrorists brutalized and humiliated more than anyone, it seems:
In fact, I'm trying to find a case where the US helped overthrow a dictator to let room for a democratic regime. The most recent case I can think of is Hitler. Has there been another since?
America isn't responsible for your kleptomaniac government printing out worthless money.
But the U.S. has actually benefitted from this modest amount of inflation. Domestic goods have gotten cheaper in relation to foreign goods, and foreign investment is attracted.
The 360 might have more general purpose CPU power than the cell, but we don't want a PC, we want a games/media box, and the PS3 has oodles more ability there.
So we've finally stopped measuring performance in MHz and started measuring it in "oodles"?
Physics, graphics, AI, and sound all can be done highly effectively with the cell.
You're just making this up as you go along. Do you realize how silly you look?
From the specs released, the Xbox360 and PS3 sound kinda the same for now. You've got to understand that Sony has a history of severely over-hyping the power of their upcoming console. Furthermore, until we see more detailed specs, we're not sure what bottlenecks might arise in the PS3's architecture.
In order to change the conclusion that Xbox came in third place worldwide, Xbox would have had to destroy the GameCube in Europe and/or Australia. Do you claim that this is the case?
Pretty much. Did you miss all those stories about British retailers dropping the Gamecube? Nintendo has treated the European market pretty crappily this generation. They're a distant third place in Europe.
Xbox has done reasonably well in Europe, though of course the PS2 still has the highest penetration by a wide margin.
I think I'll pluck this quote out and leave it on it's own, uncommented.
Other Slashdotters may think I'm being unfair to the parent, but the rest of his post isn't any better, really.
Who keeps modding this guy up? He's clearly a flamebaiting troll.
Indeed, even if they were outsourcing it from Mexico to Singapore.
1) That isn't true, by far.

"They" do release emulators for the Palm and PocketPC platforms. Example: http://paqpark.nuclearfallout.net/projects/pockets nes.php

It's amazing that anti-war people are attracted to the single most negative Iraqi blog out there, and dismiss the rest as propoganda.
Come to think of it, I'm not surprised at all.
Wow, hateful bile == +5 Funny? Who knew.
Thankfully you seem pretty weirdly detached from reality.
I must be the only person alive who doesn't mind jumping sequences in FPS games. Where are your feet? Directly below your POV.

Oh my god, someone made a whole website devoted to that bullshit? Hilarious.
Afghanistan and Iraq, just recently.
How can you have an MMO where everyone plays the same character?

Journalists? It is a trade show.

Hah! Like they'd ever charge a reasonable price for old games. Expect to pay at least $20 for your Final Fantasy 6 download, at least.
What, Europe has evaporated now?
> (we kill plenty of innocent people in Iraq)
Ah, but any good GM will distinguish between accidental and purposeful killing. Especially if it happens during a good quest line.
Tell that to the Sega Dreamcast.
If you just want PVP without PVE, then why aren't you off playing Counter-Strike?
LOL, I love how some people make these decisions before any of the consoles have seen the light of day.
