    Start researching how to build better computers and start a company. You have some options to explore -

    1) DNA/Molecular computers
    2) Atomic switches

    You'l l save yourself a lot of time by not modeling nonlinear processes with linear equations and infinite corrections under 10^-13 m (ultraviolet divergences).

    The only reason the government gets technology like this developed is intelligent people will do anything for their degree or grant money. Until we all stand together and refuse to help Americans spy on other Americans or any one else in the world our rights will continue to slowly errode because of people like the researchers at Rensellaer. Really, they are the ones who need to be punished by ostracizing them from the scientific community and their neighborhoods to make it clear that any one who accepts tax dollars to further the goals of Big Brother are not welcome in our hearts or minds as comrades.

    Unless researchers announce preliminary findings 2-5 years in "advance" of a prototype how do you expect them to get funding? Investor mind-reading equipment to access scientist brains is still 10-15 years off.

    Any sufficiently intelligent entity that is going to be implanted into a cybernetic body should be able to
    1) Choose from a group of predesigned body shapes
    or
    Design their own from scratch (I'm sure eventually...)
    2) Modify them afterwards depending on their judgements of reactions towards them.
    IANAAI (Artificial Intelligence) but such entities may find that one of the greatest challenges to its own evolution and interaction with the physical or virtual reality at hand depends greatly on the appearance it takes.

    Just because you think of nanobots in traditional terms of metal and Energizer batteries doesn't mean that is how they are. Perhaps you should do some research in the field first. The most promising (INAN - I'm Not A Nanoscientisit) designs will follow closely to nature - ie virus and bacteria like genetically designed and perhaps controlled by electromagnetic fields. Nature has already given us extremely efficient designs for self-growing structures and organized modification at a chemical level of these structures. I would suggest reading up on the subject as there are many excellent books published on the subject.

    Although in America not much critical thought is given to the best way to punish criminals (not much critical thought given to laws either) with non-violent crimes such as this one a wider range of options are available instead of prison. Maybe Ethics courses, extremely restricted computer access, public servitude, or strictly monetary fines would be better. Why throw away $40k a year to keep a spammer away from a computer in prison (i don't think they have those yet) when you could just force him or her to tell all future neighbors with an email address of their past history?

    Instructions on how to "validate" the truth or falseness behind a statement. Do not answer what you think, but what you believe all other people will answer. You will lose credibility with GAC if you answer a question in the 30% minority. Remember, on the IQ bell curve 100 IQ is the majority...and thats not counting the people under 100. So basically GAC will ignore you if you aren't an idiot or fail to think like an idiot. Instead of putting up Ask Slashdot topics we can just ask GAC what it thinks and get the same insight.
