Don't be surprised if in Star Trek 10 he "goes back in time" for a few seconds and reappears and doesn't tell anyone what happened or what he did. Suddenly, his name starts appearing in the history books. Then a few weeks later we see a new episode of "Enterpise" and BOOM, there he is, straight from the Enterprise E and we follow him as he helps do some heroic deed, then he goes "back into the future" and arrives just a few seconds after he left.
Of course, I'm tired and it is April 1st. We'll see.;)
It's a shame too. I would love to see a mission to Europa. I'm curious if there is just the smallest evidence of life there. A mission to Pluto would be interesting as well (I'd just like to see the surface of the thing clearly, as well as seeing the view from Pluto looking toward our Sun).
Reminds me of a quote from Star Trek: Insurrection.. "Does anyone remember when we used to be explorers?" -Picard
I don't bother using Linux as a desktop OS anymore. Windows and MacOS 10 have got it beat in that area IMO (although in my first post it sounds like I use Linux as my primary computer, I don't, I was just curious).
At the same time, I won't use anything but Linux for a server. Oh well.:)
If you are going to run all Windows applications, then why run Linux?
Seriously, what is the point? Install Windows 2000/XP and you won't have to wait for these guys to make your favorite Win32 application available to run on *nix.
Just about all Slashdotters claim to support the open source movement and claim to hate Microsoft yet you're still running Microsoft applications, just under a different OS. Why not support the open source community/*nix community which you claim to love and download/buy some competing products such as StarOffice 6.0, or use AbiWord, Evolution, etc.

Lord knows I'll have plenty more when the DVDs of the original trilogy come out, plus the next 2 movies. As for Lord of the Rings... don't get me started. They'll make as much money off of me as Lucasfilm/Fox did.
And yes, I already have the ST:TNG 1st season DVD box set.;) Not to mention the Cowboy Bebop box set, and the Godfa.......
Please explain 5 dimensions and we'll get into 11 dimensions later. I can't think... that.. way.. ouch..
Or is it the whole "everything appears 3D, but if we were to zoom in on a tiny scale we would see the other dimensions are 'wrapped' around the 3 (+time) dimensions?"
We run Exchange 5.5 and I can access the web interface from Mozilla with no problem. The version of Mozilla was the default that came with RedHat 7.2 (no idea to the exact version though).
I've always played RTS games strategically. I would always play against a friend of mine and our games would take hours. The other night I played some friends I had never played before and guess what happened? By the time I was getting steady resources coming in and was able to maintain their level no matter what I built, here comes a massive army from 2 teams (allied) rushing me.
It wasn't fun at all, and the game lasted 20 minutes (the only reason it lasted that long is because I had some fishing boats and kept them moving, heh).
I agree with you 100%.
Your coolness factor could drop a lot...

I knew there was a reason I didn't ask girls out back in high school!
This also explains why all the "popular" guys still work at the local grocery store and I'm a Systems Admin... wait, maybe I should've asked a few girls out.
I always thought it was funny in the movie "Red Planet" where Gallagher (Val Kilmer) was talking about how his grandfather taught him to read the stars so he wouldn't get lost if all the GPS satellites fell from the sky.
Of course, the stars are moving too, it just won't be as obvious as the North Pole (unless you can wait ~billions of years).:)
It didn't say why the North Pole is moving (unless I missed it). It's because of solar wind, correct?

Do I really need to say more?:P Ah well, he shouldn't have been so stupid I guess.

How about a low end iBook? They start right at $1,200.
I plan on buying either a high end iBook or a low end Powerbook, haven't decided which way to go though.

Does anyone know how much rocket fuel the thing was supossed to hold? I'm also interested in a comparision between that and the Saturn 5 rocket?
Any good websites that Google may not be turning up?

Let us just hope that everyone else doesn't go blind or it'll all be for nothing!
the thing Gene Starwind uses while fighting in the Outlaw Star? ;) You'd always see a little red laser flash right into his eye.
I could see this being used the same way Gene used it, except maybe the Air Force would take advantage of it.
Portable HUD, I like it.
