It's something they started like a year or so ago. Depending on where they are on the screen they're either red or green dots in a formation like this:.....
And are usually just a little bit diagonal from the center of the screen. The "cigarette burns" are a different thing that I don't think exist much anymore.
The reason that Apple is making so little money from iTunes is because the RIAA is charging them such exorbitant fees per file. It's not becuase this is how it *has* to be, it just is that way. The RIAA is actually making as much, if not more, from iTunes as they do from selling regular records (CDs and tape).
I add one thing to your list of gripes. They have started to add dots in strange places on the film to deter those who are making cam images of them. Supposedly it magnifies on the camcorder and makes it really bad. Whatever.
I'm one of those strange individuals that can actually see those dots. I've asked other people and they say they thought they did once, but I see it multiple times per movie, which ruins the experience for me somewhat.
On the subject of good theaters that enforce things, I have one near me, it's called Tinseltown in Kenosha, WI. I love it, they have great seating, the sound is good, the picture is good (except for the dots....) and nobody really causes noise problems.
I agree, however I don't want anyone forcing me to use Opera on my own system. If I have to use Opera or IE because that's what someone has and they don't want me installing Firefox, that's what I'll use.
If it was his second or later child I would agree with you. But if it's your first child I can't see why you would not want to experience it. It's a miracle that someone like you or me can create a new life with the help of a woman.
Yes, second and third births are gonna be pretty humdrum, though. It's the fifteenth that becomes magical again;)
Well, I meant it as more of a joke. The guy I replied to seemed to think everyone here believes string theory to be a proven hypothesis. Most of the physical theories we have cannot be proven with our current level of technology.
I don't have a problem with this as unproven theories are great and sometimes more interesting than proven theories.
Are you saying there is no legacy circuitry in a G5 chip? I would have to disagree with you on that unless you could cite a specific article. And believe me, I'll look for my own article to prove my point, because I believe I have seen it.
Also, look at the Athlon 64. They threw out a lot of the legacy circuits that have barely been used for years. Yes, there is yet to be a large commercial OS that is 64-bit (unfortunately Mandrake and Red Hat and the like don't support 64-bit as much as they do 32), but once it is there, is there really any point to using a G5 chip?
You can make the argument go either way, so your point is really moot.
I didn't know *anyone* saw this as a respectable place to come for news. It's more a forum than news site, and the mods here just barely take themselves seriously.
Well, my Athlon mobile laptop gets comparable battery life to the various PPC laptops. I really think 6-8 hours is quite long enough to do whatever I need on a battery....
I have 3 fans in my PC. Video card, CPU, and exhaust. Oh, almost forgot the 2 fans in the power supply. I can barely hear the fans unless I take the side off my case. It's as quiet, or quieter, than any Mac I've ever seen.
I don't have an absolute top of the line PC, but it's not too bad. I don't personally like Mac hardware, but then again it's more a personal preference and has almost nothing to do with anything really.
It has been done already: the shrink-wrapped CD directs you to read the EULA before breaking the seal, only to tell you in the next line that the EULA is sealed in the plastic covering the CD itself. No, I am not making this up, I have seen this before. It was a few years ago and I forget who it was, though.
What if someone is already looking at an EULA when you want to see one? do you suggest people wait in line at the one or 2 computers available to read the multi-page EULAs?
As long as you own every computer in the house and don't give those computers away without wiping that copy of Windows off, you should be within your fair-use rights with respect to copyright. Emphasis, of course, on should. We all know the government likes big business and all, so how this would hold up in court as a pure copyright case is up in the air.
As far as copying the books, you can make 5000000000 copies of every book in your house, as long as you used those copies yourself and did not distribute them. Like a sibling post says, you can photocopy snippets for use to prove a point or the like, but you have to give your source.
So the RIAA or whatever would be given a small fine of around $100,000 and would sue the person even though there's no hard evidence. The lawsuit would cost quite a bit of money to the defendant, and, even if the RIAA couldn't win, the defendant wouldn't be able to afford to keep going.
I see. So nobody buys the newest $5000 Sony Ericsson phone and wears it conspicuously on their belt or waving it around.....
It may not be the same status symbol as it was in the 70s and 80s, but having a phone with all the bells and whistles is something of a status thing in certain groups.
I have seen some of the 8-color pigment prints before. I think they look amazing. But then again, this is not in comparison to an equal quality standard SLR style camera or anything. This was just up against all the other 4-6 color basic prints from inkjets.
Along with your comment on taking Photo 101: this is why I cannot take many pictures. I find that they are severely lacking in quality and I feel stupid trying to make pictures that look decent to me. If they were taken by someone else, I would see them as at least decent. I guess my problem is I'm too self-critical, but a Photo 101 class would help with that.
How much did you have to smoke the night you thought about making that footboard?

if you know HP's ipaq numbering scheme, the 5450 and 5455 are the exact same model. Same goes for the 5550 and 5555.
It really makes people wonder at my work when they asked for the 5555 and the box they got said 5550. That goes for most models of iPAQs.

I think that's why it's called string theory instead of string fact.

My Athlon-M laptop shows the change in /proc/cpuinfo, and has for a while. I haven't used anything older than a 2.6 kernel with it, though.

I agree that it is ugly. But I also think the iPod is ugly. I know most people wont' agree with me, but I'm allowed an opinion, right?

Me too, and I was thoroughly confused until I read your post.

well, you may be interested in the first couple pages of it... as you can see these are pages 3 and 4.
It doesn't have full GBA compatibility like the GBA supports just about all GBC compatibility.
Are cell phones really not status symbols for many people already? Or do I live in a different world than you?
