I heard a good idea from a letter read on NPR this morning. Identify a home or business you intend to burglarize and send them a letting giving them the opportunity to opt-out of burglary proper by a certain date. If they don't opt-out, well, there you go. It's perfect.

Or you could buy a dead Mercedes on eBay. Then you could buy an engine, a transmission, a windshield, seats, tires and say you built a Mercedes from scratch. You could put up a website describing how you did it and DIY TV could produce a show about it. You would then be the envy of everyone who watches DYI.

  17. Screw the Japanese on LANL Warning About Radioactive Trees · · Score: 1

They murdered over 20 million civilians died in China alone during their occupation of foreign countries. They mistreated prisoners of war; over 100,000 died during forced labor. And to this day they won't acknowledge the horrors they committed during the war. If I had been a soldier looking at an invasion of the Japanese homeland and I knew their was a way to save my ass, I would say blow them to kingdom come. Even after the first weapon was dropped they refused to surrender. Talk to some of folks in China, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Phillipines or Viet-Nam who lived through the occupation. Or survivors of the Bataan Death March.

  23. Wen Ho Lee an Idiot on Bobby Fischer FBI Files Released Under FOIA · · Score: 1

Wen Ho Lee is far from an innocent party. He gave to his kids passwords to laboratory computer systems, downloaded classified material to an unsecure computer, copied the classified material to tapes and took the tapes from the lab supposedly to his home where he says he destroyed and disposed of them. He was less than truthful during the investigation. I think the gov't botched the investigation by making him out to be a spy but I don't feel he was treated too harshly. He was given a clearance, he knew the rules and he chose to disregard them. His claim that everyone does what he did is just not true.
