I think it's just an excuse for people to feel sorry about you. Now let me explain that first line before some nitwit reads between the lines. I have seen a lot of people with Tunnel carpal, in fact most of them did not get it from using a computer.
don't most people have adjustable chairs? proper height and seat adjustment.
If it hurts stop doing it for a while. Take a break. Get one of those annoying animated computer programs to remind you to take a rest.
People were using typewriters for 50 years. Yeah I know if you had a pain back then the perscribed answer was take an asprin.
I think looking at a brite sheet of paper for hours on end and punching keys is more annoying than a computer screen with a minimal feeback keyboard.
I bet most if not all people with Tunnel Carpal don't even work out. Doritos,Coke and Beer dont help either.
Oh by the way there is a pill on the market that gives you a six pack stomach and 22 inch biceps.
We have been doing online courses for about 4 years now.(Yes I have left the name of the company out)
We were using Voice Over I.P and a neat little tool called Placeware. (Now owned my Microsoft)
We taught a variety of subjects from MCSE certification. Which we had students all over the U.S. take the course. I have to admit it was not quite a success. We had a pilot program with a troubled inner city school teaching MS office. Our instructor was in California and the school was located in D.C.
We currently work with Two University's which offer technology in the classroom courses to teach teachers how to integrate using technology in the classrooms. We have had mixed reviews from students, some love the convenience of sitting at home and never having to drive to the University, to "I won't take another online class again".
We had an interesting response from one student from the D.C school who described to us that it made him more responsible to get the work done on time.
It all depends on the instructor and the technology platform they use and how creative and engaging he or she makes the online class.
I have seen university's who offer nothing but online chat and forums to email correspondence only.
Now as far as providing a quality education that remains to be seen. I think the only company/University who can answer that would be the University of Phoenix. We have had 2 or 3 online courses that augment student's classes but we have not offered a complete online degree program as of yet.
I remember when I owned my Amiga there was a person who created an application called Magic icons. It changed the way the Amiga's desktop looked and for the most part a large number of Amiga users defaulted to using that application.
But ever wonder how things like this seem to pop up when something is very popular?? This sounds like a Hollywood insider special edition timming event
Please, Please no more Amiga threads. I loved the Amiga as much as any die hard fan out there but there is abosolutley no reason other than the different factor to go out and buy one.
The time that Amiga was to be inovative was when the company went bankrupt, they took 10 years and 3 companys to decide to use the PPC chip. To little to late.
Whoever owns the Amiga should spend thier time and money on improving what is already out there. Or build another game console. (yeah right)
Hey here is an idea! design a Sony Playstation board that plugs into a PCI slot and uses the exisiting CD rom dive and utilize the Memory and processing power. That would be a WOW factor of 10!
I'll second that. I would love to replace most of my N.T 4.0 network with Linux boxes. We are tied into a Content Management System (CMS) called Vignette. Although there is an open source CMS called PlainBlack that looks very promising. The moment a Open source replacement comes out for Exchange, that's the moment I'll start deploying a test box.
Saw on a news magazine show that a patient at a hospital was being treated for an illness and the doctors discovered that his body was immune to some form of sickness. So the Hospital placed a patent on his cells. So is there some sort of catch all patent for your cells and to be discovered cures?

Amiga went Bankrupt in 1994?
The company transfered owners 3 to 5 times?
Took 6 years to decide which processor they were going to use.
Now an Amiga called Power one, still doesn't have an OS for it?
Now Amiga needs a port of Mozilla?
Sounds like the cart before the horse.
Zombie on Amiga!
Wink Wink, Poke Poke.

I own a number of pistols. I love shooting as a hobby.
Sometimes people just don't think.
At least it's the Bill Clinton Bureaucratic mandated 10 round magazine variety.

That's all we need to do. We need to show Habib how to make a suicide bomber car without the driver.
Well I guess I'll play Spider Man!!
Ahh More SETI units!!
A blue Pill and a Red Pill ;)
It's like car companies who spend millions to make a concept car and never produce them for the population to drive.
Spend the money on making a better OS.
Spend the money on the concept of not creating a rattle box after 5 years of ownership.
Google Rocks! Plain and simple

I have just about every machine at work running seti. Does this mean if I have a strong signal my Ranking will improve :)
Now this has to be the biggest Slashdot Post I have seen to date!
Where are the Athlon Processor models?
I want to fly like an Eagle! To the Sea. uh erm sorry ;)
Time to buy a Ti4600 :)
If it gets rid of the whole aisle of action figures from the toy section in Wallmart. I am all for it!
Ahh! My kingdom for a larger Seti machine!
Hey! if you go to the Firm you can enter yourself to win a free robot!

Sad but true.
