the update spoiled it all:( now we're going to have to wait until yr. 2435... of course judging the rate of dupes on slashdot, that may just be possible:)
heck omg wow like this movie like wow T3 like heck omg machines wow heck like:-)
"- Overall, one of the best rounded movies in the 90s, I have yet to see a movie that will sustain me that much all long and heck even make me cry at the end (another rare thing with action movies, or totally screwed up that makes you want to laugh (or cry because you lost 10$:) )"
try.. i don't know.. requiem for a dream? or american beauty? or a non-american movie (yes, those do exist, believe it or not)

this is true. however, the net plays a larger part in the social lives of some than of others. and, look, one needs to relax sometimes...
so now we have this great little problem: say you use the same sn|alias|whatnot to talk on IM|whatnot with people you know in real life as you use, say, for/. - the same alias under which you outputted all of those dumb jokes, etc (/me thinks of itself). now people from RL may *accidentally* search for your alias... see where this is going?
this makes people that exist more than others on the net valuable to manipulation... it may screw up some of your interactions, etc...
so, i guess what i want to say is that if you socialize on the net, and much that happens here is easily searchable, etc, you must be ready to provide quick bridging for some sort of integrity? or something? someone help me find the right words:)
otherwise people would get stuck with i-dont-want-to-blow-my-cover complexes and then the net as it currently is, with all the BSing, and CAPS LOCKS, and flam3bait1ng and l337 h4Xors would be no more... (the day the h4X0r kiddies fell silent?) which *might* be a good thing.. i dont know. but some certainly like it this way..
the "moon"? a better question is "how did we launch the moon if we can't launch something a gazillion times smaller"...and while we're on this subject, just how did they get the death star up there?
i've got an IRiver iMP-350... it has a small remote control with an lcd just like that (in fact is probably the exact same LCD). i walk around with it in my backpack, pocket, crushed under books, you name it - the control works as new
i was also lucky to tour cornell's synchotron & storage ring ((almost)nothing to do with producing particles). its really cool.
its interesting that the machine almost never goes offline since every hour on it costs millions, but its still very expensive to mantain. there are rumors that the administration may cut funding to it:/
now that these things dont really promise new, more powerful atom bombs, it seems the government (particularly the nsf) is slowly but relentlessly cutting funding to such programs
yeah, but walking around the ring was pretty fun:) it's under a football field, so its funny to think about those pesky football bullies getting some radiation during their game:) just kidding
...i must be on one of the poles... i'm POLISH!!! (no offence to Poles, especially ones that dont live on the pole, but i dont mean Poland, which is to say... AAARGGH)
it seems that the more complex the game, the more often people reach high concentrations.
like i've seen people get really disconnected while playing Homeworld or even something "slow" like Civ, but you don't see too many people going into trances playing solitare, now do you?:)

reason #1:
we need to conserve the article so we can post different sections of it for repeated posts (of the same thing)
you should never bend computer wires too much. you see, 0's are round, so they get through fine, but 1's tend to get stuck in the bends =)
i did download it and now i'm enjoying the 2000000000000000000 png's that are still being extracted to my hard drive :(
i think you're absolutely right on the second part
:)
the 10 mil figure comes from an interview with either the director of RSC Energia or the russian Mission Control... not sure, sorry
but i'm fairly certain its 10 mil... things in russia are done MUCH, MUCH more cheaply (at the cost of convenience, and one could argue, safety).
cost of space tourist trip - $20 mil
cost of building and launching a soyuz - $10 mil
so maybe you see why we're sending tourists up? if lance bass would of been able to pay the $20 mil, we wouldn't have these problems right now.
and really, as long as the tourist pays, it can be a cow as far as i care. hey, free orbital milk anyone?
the "moon"? ...and while we're on this subject, just how did they get the death star up there?
a better question is "how did we launch the moon if we can't launch something a gazillion times smaller"
i think i just started feeling better about getting rejected from MIT
thanks!
no, seriously

so i wouldn't be very worried about that...
