Windows is cheaper than the free OS. That makes sense.
It makes perfect sense to me. First, they build the PC with Windows installed on it, then they have to pay someone to uninstall Windows from it and install Ubuntu.
They then pass the cost of the Windows license, and the work to remove it and install Ubuntu onto the customer, so obviously it will cost more!
Their webmail service was compromised this week, and spammers got hold of customers' e-mail addresses who they've been happily spamming away ever since. They've since made the decision to close their webmail service, in the ultimate admission of incompetence for the now BT owned ISP. In an e-mail to their customers...
It's unlikely they'll actually be able to read this email given the fact that they're now drowning in spam...
I hate the way they've stuffed the options up into the top left hand corner. Now I have the drag the damn mouse up there, click on the link I want, then drag the damn mouse back to type in what I need.
Granted, the focus moves the search box but the search results page looks clumsy and is unintuitive.
Google, change it back. There's no shame in admitting you made a mistake.
With dual players coming out. It doesn't matter what he supports.
I think it matters to the people who bought the HD-DVD add on for the Xbox 360. Now they have to buy another player so they can watch Pirates Of The Caribbean* in High Definition.
What I want in High Definition though is Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings and The Matrix...
Patenting drugs that essentially exploit the poor and/or the third world is wrong. I appreciate that finding cures for diseases such as AIDS is incredibly hard work, time consuming and very expensive, but that doesn't give anyone the right to hold the world hostage.
Hopefully we'll see this happening with software patents in the next few months.
Personally I always found Digg to be *very* OK, nothing special, mainly shovelware stories. Perhaps it's because I discovered it around September 2006.
Unfortunately, after the whole HD-DVD key revolt, I decided Digg was just far too childish to bother with anymore. Sure, at one point Digg was probably very good, but after 1st May 2007, it died (for me anyway).
As with every piece of software, it'd be perfect if it wasn't for the users.
You've clearly got a lot of talent, so why are you wasting your time making Open Source versions of all of Microsoft's products? All you're effectively doing is giving Microsoft the foothold in Linux that they need.
There are plenty of Linux apps out there that could do with your skills and that don't infringe on Microsoft's patents. Why not write a program that'll do something with that number that everyone's been talking about recently. I can't remember what it is, but I'll find it in a moment...
Instead of calling the 800 number, consumers can visit their local torrent site and download the movie for free long before the replacement disc reaches their door.
Don't download the ISO though, otherwise you'll be straight back to square one...
That hijacking a satellite is a pretty cool thing to do. Go on, imagine the scenario in a 4 Yorkshire Men style...
Terrorist 1: We hijacked an armoured vehicle! Terrorist 2: That's nothing! We hijacked a boat! Terrorist 3: Amateurs! We highjacked a plane! Terrorist 4: We highjacked a satellite
Terrorist 1: And you try to tell the young people about that, they won't believe you! Terrorist 3: They won't!
and then I can pretend I'm in Minority Report all day long.
it's made of paper after all!
Oh wait, you asked if a Blogroll can be Defamatory.
I thought you asked if a Bogroll can be Inflammatory.

Finally, proof that Mother Nature never intended males to exist at all.
Don't get too excited, women are still going to need us to get the lids off of jars and reverse the car out of the driveway.
there's a downide.

He was a great man and did a lot for the space program and science in general. He'll be greatly missed.
May 4th be with him.
Aha! Found it! What can you do with this?

"No matter how many Private Host Keys they revoke we will still be able to get Volume IDs using patched xbox 360 HD DVD drives."
I hope the hacker isn't suggesting that this whole encryption key debackle is somehow Microsoft's fault, could you imagine the lawsuit?
Nothing for you to see here. Please move along.
Huh, looks like the new strategy is issuing DMCA Takedown orders against anyone who suggests that it is undefeatable...
If we do live longer to say 150 and you retire at say 70 would you really want to spend 80 years doing nothing..
What makes you think your government would allow you to retire at 70 if you lived to 150?
Is there any way to digg this article down?
Yes: make sure that it's clear, concise, factually correct and that the masses don't agree with what you've written.

The things people throw away these days...

Bring on Version 9: Hungry Hungry Hippo!
I've got a new project for you...
