  1. Re:oh boy on Star Wars Galaxies Fanfest Addresses Wookie Mohawk Quandary · · Score: 1

sorry. i see these same complaints on the swg boards. sorta getting old. yes a lot needs fixed. warping does suck. if you want a bike get one that was made well. dont buy crappy ones. maintaining your vehicle doesnt seems like such a big deal. its more then easy to make money on the game so the vehicle argument is kind of invalid.

but the rest of what you listed is the same crap rehashed. people are never happy. if you dont like pvp dont do it. if you wanna "own" the big things in game then you HAVE to pick one of the professions made to do that (TKM). what makes the game SUCK is people like you that whine and mock the ppl that put in the effort to be "master grinders" . you are a "master whiner"

oh and the whole "im gonna start playing so-and-so-newgame" crap sucks the most. funny how ppl that bitch about SWG always say they are gonna stop playing but still stay around in game and on the boards saying the same crap you did. seriously anyone go look at the swg boards. you will find 100s of post that are pretty much the same.

like someone said, if the game sucks, it's because people suck.

  2. Re:Music isn't about industry on The Way the Music Died · · Score: 1

I read your comment and almost fell off my rusting chair.I don't think that the number or chords in a song has anything to do with quality. I like punk rock. I like hardcore and indie rock too. Does that mean it sucks because every song doesnt have 56 diff chords per song? Quality is ALL opinion. Just because every song doesn't sound like a Yes song or whatever doesnt mean its not worth hearing. You sound like the typical older person bitching about music that wasnt' made when you were really into it. Sorry but it does. Then again

Yes, the girl is attractive, but it seems to be in bad taste to kept mentioning it. I honestly am not flaming anyone, but let's try maybe to stop commenting on hot biker girls and focus on her deeds for the rest of the time this article keeps getting comments.

    Anyways, a few quick thoughts:

As someone said in another comment, I was also pretty spooked after reading through the whole story.I really found what she said about tourists not being able to take the silence for very long in the ghost town disturbing. Hard to imagine what that is like, I would probably have trouble dealing with it myself. I would assume one would get used to it (obviously she deals ok with it).

And also, for all the crap I do online, I gotta say THIS story and her pics reminds me of how great the internet can be. I have seen some shows about the whole thing on tv sometimes, but really they dont even come close to what this girl has done and showed us. It's really too bad there isn't more things like this on the web. That's just what I think, I'm sure others find other things just as interesting online.

Overall very scary and it really is a wake up call.

but I liked Perfect Dark a *hell* of a lot better. Why would they think of making another 007 game instead of a new perfect dark game? I remember hearing a new Perfect Dark game was being made but Rare never followed though. Anyone know what happened to that?

Oh and without the original team working on a new 007 game I don't know if it will be as good. Then again maybe I'm wrong.

  5. Nothing Really More Star Warsy Except Jedi... on Star Wars Galaxies To Revamp Jedi System · · Score: 2, Insightful

Seeing as they gave out holocrons to everyone for Christmas, I hope the changes in the whole jedi mess won't ingore that. Grinding though professions that the holocrons tell you does indeed suck, but if they do away with the holocron having something to do with the "jedi path" it kind of sucks for the people who couldnt get one until they gave them out for presents (most people for 2 in fact). Whatever the case, I do agree that grinding is probably the only way to make the game hard enough to accout for the path to jedi being hard. I also like that it's way harder to train in the jedi profession once you make it. I want it to be hard, otherwise it's pointless.

That being said, I don't like making a whole new character. That's just stupid.

Now if they could just give the game a real Galactic Civil War, I really think less people would strive for jedi. Let's hope the next patches (Publishes 6 and 7) gets all this fixed.

People only obsess with jedi because there isn't much else Star Wars like in the game!

    Just my 0.02 USD

sorry i don't mean to troll i really don't, but your little problems shouldnt ruin google for the rest of us. you are not going to take down google from your basement or that url. if you ask me protesting anything with a site that includes soandso-SUCKS.com/org/net sure as hell won't get my support. grow up. whoever modded up your comment as interesting must like the future a lot too.

oh and we all know search king was crap btw so dragging up that in your "examples" won't help. did you used to work for search king or something?
we will see if google sucks once it's bigger but quite frankly i doubt its going "suck" :) cheers!

  9. Such a shame on EMusic Acquired, Halting Unlimited Downloads · · Score: 1, Interesting

This really does suck. If they could not afford to keep up the unlimited downloads, they should not have offered them from the start. I already canceled. It really kind of hurts to be honest. E-music was a example of how indie labels could work with selling music online via mp3. Now that is ruined.

I can't believe that anyone subscribing now won't cancel. I really have to wonder where they came up with this pricing plan. Oh well. Let's hope another good place like emusic comes around. Sad.

At least IRC will always work right.

I agree. I am very happy with emusic. I started using it months back and the selection was not that great for msuic I dig at the time, but all the genres now have a nice amount of artists that I like. To answer why emusic didn't make the list, I would say because it isn't as high profile as the other things on the list. There isn't a ton of disposable pop there so most of the sheepish music fans won't bother with it. I guess it just is not as mainstream as crap like Kazaa. I hope this won't hurt the emusic folks since they don't use DRM and serve mp3s. I would hate to read that they went under because they didn't use a worthless format with DRM.

I would also say that I am not a hardcore geek. My family uses Outlook Express as well (also for many years)and they know basic internet things only IF that. So what the hell is the problem with sysadmins and those security holes? I know it's a different enviornment but sheesh if my numbskull family can use Outlook and Outlook Express without virus or whatever problems it seems to me sysadmins just don't get over themselves enough at the job to secure things right or whatever needs to be done. I may sound ignorant but that is my point of view. Just maybe share the blame of security holes between MS and the goof sysadmins instead of taking any chance to bash an MS office or server. True MS has screwed themselves a lot but let's try to be progressive with comments instead of always bashing. Thanks!

Maybe you MS bashers could hold your "it's a virus haven" and "they will screw it up" trolling until we actually see some of thier new stuff? Oh wait I forgot it's /. so the reader should just assume the pro-linux comments are correct. Gotta sell that ad space and all.. and nothing here on /. gets readers more then a chance to bash a Microsoft idea.
