I remember a while back about such things being close to being available. I just hope that format doesn't get picked up by the **AAs so that we can actually get to use the technology before the 2TB discs come out!
Blind greed!
They fail to see that this field is still in its infancy and developments occur daily, not very 7 or 20 years like other fields.
We are already buying tonnes of things from China.
Software will be next since they can build on anybody's work and we're the ones restricting ourselves to what a patent says we are allowed to do.
how can you patent speech?
You might be on to something there.
Last century we thought you couldn't patent life.
Then someone did (Havard U, "Harvard mouse", I think)
I could have swarned that NASA had a project to collect or at least slow down some of these objects in orbit. It was supposed to be a huge sponge or something. Anyway, about a year ago or so, the project go cancelled for no reason.
Following that line of reasoning, anybody can be subject to the NDA if they tell somebody a "corporate secret". They wouldn't even have to have seen the NDA, much less sign it.
So now when you hear a rumour that *could* be true, don't repeat it because you could be sued.
Congratulation, you've just lost free speech.
America, land of the Free! Ha!
Free Corporations, not free people.
The show is written as if the they didn't bother to watch TOS and try to look for things to lead up-to or explain.
B&B don't care to follow ST Mythos and this show proves it.
I asked ATI if they would be making 2 versions of their HD card. They said that they will be making only ONE version and that it's not their fault if Canadian broadcasters happen to use the Flag.
Meaning if Canadian Broadcasters happen to use the same source as provided to American Broadcasters, Canadians will be subject to the Broadcast Flag!

Regarding Broadcast Flag:
There will only be one version of the card produced and after the date of the Broadcast Flag institution the cards manufactured after this date will support the feature. I do not know if Canadian broadcasts will have a similar limitation.

I've seen pictures of the pools of hog sewage in industrial farms that have bursted after a storm and killed people along with the hogs.
This would make such disasters a bad memory and create oil, power and other non-lethal products.
RE: [Ethanol] has allowed the Oil companies to burn *poorer* quality gas and still meet the minimum standards.
This is again a regulation issue that can be changed for $0.
RE:[kaladorn] That's a fantastic idea. Make license plates for SUVs and Trucks cost more according to their age. (Cost: Profit center!) Don't link it to emission or the care they recieve. Just take perfectly well maintained vehicles off the road because they're old.
If you are a collector you can afford it. Notice Cars could be exempt. If you have 20-30+ year old Truck/SUV and driving it every day, I have to ask: What are you doing?!?
You could also base it on the # of cylinders and V8 tends to be trucks.
Yes, linking it to emissions is a good idea but it been proven that testing for emissions is more hit and miss. Besides, testing cost $. I guess you could have a loophole for people who test their truck/SUV.
In Ontario they test cars for emissions before they get they year sticker for their plate yet they don't test Trucks. Maybe it's because they would fail miserably...
Ah but there are loads of things that they could do but won't because politicians in Canada are a bunch of puppets:
-Make Gas with Methanol for Cars madatory (cost $0)
-Or tax Gas with Methanol less than gas without (Cost 0$)
-Make license plates for SUVs and Trucks cost more according to their age. (Cost: Profit center!)
-Make cheap wasteful appliances illigal (Cost $0)
-Mandate that all new Gov. fleet cars be hybrids of better (Cost: $0)
-Allow farmers to collect Methane gas from animal waste so that then can burn it and make electricity.(Cost 0$)
-Allow Pig farmers to put animal waste in this machine http://www.changingworldtech.com./what/index.asp to make oil and electricity.(Cost 0$)
-no extra bandwidth charges
-free to use
-a whole lot less controversial
-no RBL issues
duh!
Yes but, like SPF, if enough people use it, spam will move very slowly.
and unlike bandwidth, the PC will not cost you big $ every month.

7-Zip is a one-man project that needs help to add features
a il&aid=663095&group_id=14481&atid=364481
or at least manage its SourceForge support and RFE forums.
Drag-n-drop has been requested for almost 2 years and now,
some of its users are defecting to TUGZIP because of it.

Either the guy is too busy, doesn't care or just doesn't want to share control.
Maybe it's time to fork 7-zip?
I kid you not.
It works great and it doesn't harm my septic tank!
Leave it for an hour or overnight and flush in the morning.

Pepsi works too.

Let's invent a word and patent it.
-If it's declined then M$'s ISNOT patent must also be declined

-If it's accepted then it shows how stupid this whole "patent anything" rage really is.

Just use MS SOP to fix 99% of problems: Re-install
This irony here is that it's what you have to do to be 100% sure that no rootkits exists in ANY OS.

This a US law.
They'll need a clone of this bad law in every country.
