The same group of people that tanked RadioShack, Pier1, JCPenny, etc are the same people running GameStop, they move from one failure to another with the same old ideas.
If you're paranoid that Google is taking your personal information and using it for profit you may now consider the, equal, alternative Edge. And perhaps Edge will be more optimized for the OS than what Google has been able to achieve, so it could be a better experience....all theoretical of course.
I don't recall the last time I did the "two sets of code" hack, pretty sure everyone just lowers to the least common denominator of compatibility now and/or relies on polyfills for everything.
Will this not just slow innovation? Now there will basically be one browser that is run by a single committee that filter & block new features as they see fit. Back in the days of IE vs Netscape at least MS was doing whatever they hell they wanted trying to be innovative and trying lots of new features (for better or worst). Seems like the whole tech industry is trying to force everyone to adhere to the "standard" and that will eventually kill competition and innovation.
You basically can get an iPhone or an Android (which now have little to differentiate themselves)....it's time for something new! Bring back Blackberry OS or Windows Mobile.
This is easily proven or disproven, take a server in question, or perhaps a random sampling of the supposedly hacked equipment and see if it has the "chip" they claim is there.
These days, how long do people really keep their tech? I'm thinking 2 years would be a stretch...I'm all for saving the space and weight of replaceable parts..
As their own employees depend more on Amazon services they are, in effect, basically giving the money back to themselves. And of course they'll want the national minimum wage higher, because they're the ones that will reap the benefits the most.
I would take mass transit but to get from my house to my job, which is a brutal 15 mile drive takes about 2.5hrs on the bus due to poorly aligned bus stops vs ~1hr driving.
So in Fort Worth, I have cheap AT&T gigabit fiber at my house....my friend, who lives about a mile away in a much larger (2-3k homes) but not as wealthy neighborhood has AT&T DSL...but the biggest kick in the nuts for him is that they're not signing up any new DSL accounts, so his only Internet option is dial up or installing a very expensive, tall wireless antenna to get slow wireless Internet.
You use the app to generated card # w/ expiration date and CVV for online purchases.
So are you saying I can get away with anything as long as I do it in the name of science?

Someone is paying for it and itâ(TM)s probably the parents.
In the Seattle area there are plenty of homes available, except most non-tech employees cannot afford them.
I don't see anyone else handing out money.
Cheesus Christ that's a lot of cheese!
Set the bar so low that they'll never expect much from you by just giving them a box of part to build their own Raspberry Pi laptop.
It's more like Trump vs Democrats vs Republicans.

Sounds like that person wants to be put on a PIP so they can take the severance pay.
I'll get us used to the idea that censorship is acceptable and good for society. *sarcasm*
It's also the fact that it takes lots of land to raise cows, so we need to find a way to raise wild cows on seaweed.
We need a Thanos-like solution to fix this problem.

If they're getting rid of 44k FTEs, I wonder how many of their H1B (and non) contractors they're getting rid of?

The difference between all of those groups and Xi is that he actually has the power to censor the Internet.
