Crushed rock is pieces of rock the size of driveway gravel. Its used today but you need much smaller pieces of rock (i.e. sand) to fill in the space to keep the amount of cement reasonable. You could crush rock further into sand, but that would presumably take a lot more energy than it takes to make the gravel sized crushed rock.
Recovery of ill gotten gains from criminal activity found by the special prosecutor has paid for the investigation. So it has not actually cost the taxpayers anything.
I did not realize that iron processing was such a big contributor to overall emissions.
The EPA has an interesting breakdown: https://www.epa.gov/ghgemissio...
Interestingly the conductivity of the wires has no impact. You adjust the voltage until you get the desired current; as long as you can measure the current accurately the wire resistance is irrelevant.
Wikipedia has a good article. You measure the local acceleration due to gravity. This can apparently be done with sufficient accuracy that the uncertainty does not contribute to the overall measurement uncertainty very much.
Wow. Even an article on daylight savings time becomes an opportunity for trolling. And it looks like plenty took the bait, too. We can all surely do better.
Every one of my job changes was for a similar salary but more interesting work. Its always about learning something new.
My salary raises occur while I am at a job.
Well, yes and no. Unemployment is low, but wages have been very flat despite the low unemployment. And there are a lot of places in this country where good paying jobs (in manufacturing and mining, for example) have gone away to be replaced by much lower paying jobs. The economic disruption is real, even if unemployment is low.
I do not claim that we can or should prevent this development, nor do I have an idea about how to prevent the bad consequences. But it worries me a great deal.
It's interesting to note that as of this moment in this discussion thread the acronym "SJW" occurs five times (not countring this post)... and is always posted by an Anonymous Coward.
Rabbi Chanina taught: "Pray for the welfare of the government, for without fear of governmental authorities people would swallow each other alive"
Clearly Jewish tradition has mixed feelings about both government and kings, as your quote well illustrates. Even in Pirke Avot there are warnings about getting too close to the government. But it embraces the ambiguity; it sees government as both dangerous and necessary.
There's a very old Jewish saying: "Pray for the welfare of the government, without which people would eat each other alive".
Historically the treatment of jews by European governments in the last thousand years hasn't been great. And yet they recognized that even a very imperfect government was better than chaos. The trick is how to keep the government aligned with the interests of the people.
Yes, abuses of power will happen; it doesn't mean that power is never used for the common good and should never be granted. There have been, and continue to be, abuses by police officers throughout this country. Despite this, every one I have dealt with has been honorable and helpful, and I live in a place where I don't fear for my children walking around by themselves.
This chinese system of social control is odious in the extreme, and we should be on the alert for that type of creeping authoritarianism here. But to jump a general condemnation of all government is both wrong, and an insult to the good governence the American people are capable of.
News reports about mass killings of children at school. Itâ(TM)s sort of a bigger concern than video games, which I actually have some control over in my house.
Public transit requires some care. Where I love you need a card with a chip to get on and off the subway. Getting a new card every trip would be expensive, and reusing the same card you ties a bunch of trips together making it easier to correlate against you. And forget it if you buy it with a credit card.
If a senior fbi official Bob tells a junior officer Joe to stop investigating one of Bobâ(TM)s friends, that is certainly obstruction of justice. Motivation, and not just actions, matter in the law.
Iâ(TM)ve got over twenty years experience, and Iâ(TM)m certainly not bitter. Iâ(TM)ve certainly seen my share of bullshit over the years. Accept that human nature is human nature, work to make the work environment better instead of just bitching all the time, and recognize when itâ(TM)s time to move on.
I happen to know a few journalists well, although I am not one myself. They take the values of objectivity and reporting the truth very seriously.

I think they were having trouble getting the dimensions of the sphere accurate enough... and it was done by hand.

A little tongue in cheek, but I find it weird and wonderful that what could help coal the most in the short term is electric cars.
I am glad you recognize that it is much more important to maintain our divisions than to come together in areas where we have common ground.

Wasnâ(TM)t normal for Jews and Blacks, who were people even back then.
How much do they take out if I come in with a preexistibg condition and no current health insurance?
Spending emotional energy on people on group chats complaining about their coffee is also pretty emotionally self indulgent. Just sayin.
Netcraft confirms it
I think you mean 55-45 is an electoral loss - see, for example, the recent Virginia state legislative election.
