> If people had to pay for every mile they drove on a highway,
It's called a gas tax.
>At least in the U.S., the highway system is a huge government subsidy for the trucking industry. And everybody pays for it with their taxes.
What do you think the trucks go to weigh stations for. It's so that they can pay taxes based on how much they are transporting because heavier axel weights tranlate into more road maintenance.
ipaliasing, You can use ipaliasing and make a firewall with only one nic. However it wouldn't be a very secure firewall, but if all you want is NAT it would work fine.
But doesn't libel have to be proven in the same way other fraud would have to be proven. In other words wouldn't you have to prove that fraud didn't happen. No one said who commited the fraud just that it happened.
My experience countries outside of the us is that they will let you come in for a little while very easily if you are an American. However, if you want to stay then you may be sol.
You are just talking out of your ass. You have no idea about the barriers to moving to other countries. They make it look like a cakewalk compared to coming to the US or Canada.
"Anti-virus: $50 Once - not yearly"
You still have to get updates for new viruses
perhaps $20/year "Backup: $40 online backup - does anyone do this?"
Yes, it's much better than going through tons
of cdr's, this is painless. "100MB of online storage: $60 there are free hosting companies all over the net."
Most stink and none offer 100MB, for free. "15MB of email storage, forwarding and POP/IMAP access: $40+ Free with my ISPBR"
No it's not free, you are paying for it. In
fact my ISP(ATTbi) sucks so bad when it comes
to email, I have another host my email acounts
(one for me and one for my wife). So I'm
paying $6/month. So $72/year, I get web/imap
pop and shell access. "Home page creation and hosting: $60 Arent there template-style HomeSite(Builder) sites w/ free hosting on the net..? Again, free"
Yes, but are there any without their
advertising, annoyingly popping up on your
own page? I doubt it
$100/year = $8.33/month not a bad deal. Especially the introductory $50/year = $4.17/month. That's cheaper than proper email hosting.
I never understand why people think it's better to see a movie with a whole bunch of people. Everytime I go to a movie theater the seats are uncomfortable and sticky, there are some obnoxious people somewhere that can't stop talking, the snacks are expensive, someone with big hair sits in front of me, and someone with a horrible cackle sits behind me. If I wait for the dvd, I might not get the huge screen, but I get to pause the 2.5 hour movie, so I can take a leak if I need to because I have a pause button. After drinking a pop and eating salty snacks at a movie theater the last half hour is uncomfortable, and all those things that suck that I mentioned previously don't exist where I live.
Room full of people I don't know, what's so great about that, especially when your paying around $8.00 per ticket.
Even though you're not going to use previous movies to be a comparison, you are still going to see the movie at 12:01. Do you enjoy seeing all movies as soon as possible, or are you using previous star wars movies to help make that decision.
The new star wars movies have very little to do with the old star wars movies. In fact the only similarity is the name of the movie and the characters.
Don't believe me... Watch the first three then watch phantom menace. I am not going to see attack of the clones since to me it seams like a huge waste of money and time.
Calling Phantom Menace a Star Wars movie is like calling a Dodge, a Mercedes, just because Chrysler and Mercedes merged, you still know it's a dodge.
This was more of a thing with the psone. Memory card fills up and you have to get of your ass and walk to the psone and put in a new card. Pain in the butt.
found this while perusing the openoffice mailing lists, hope it helps. First create a document. Make changes. Then click File - Templates - Save. Save it somewhere. Then click File - Templates - Organizer, find your saved template, you may need to double click on a folder. Right click on your template and click set as default template. Hope this helps, it saved me much time and frustration.

Nobody said anything about the gpl. This is about someone taking wine code, Using it, then saying look at this great thing I wrote. At least that's what the original parent was about.
That's lying.
You said hey they're not breaking the law, you have no right to criticize.
I said there are standards we should abide to other than the law(like not lying).
You called me a dirty gnu hippie. Said GPL suckz bsd rulez.
You were the only one to bring up the GPL, BSD and bongs. I never said closing the source on a product was inappropriate.
> You have no right to criticize anyone--all parties are following the terms of the BSD license.
Looks like you're implying that we have no right to criticize anyone who doesn't break the law. You know some of believe that we should act at a higher standard then just what we are able to get away with.
Furthermore who are you to tell people what they can and can't criticize?
> 1) Same UI, wouldn't it be cool if instead of having an oven/a microwave/a toaster, you had an oven-owave-oaster with a single user interface?
No that would suck. These devices do diffrent things and can do them at the same time. Also if one broke you lose everything. That's why microwave ovens that are also convection ovens never became very popular.
> Similarly would you rather have seperate devices/volume controls for your cd, tape, and record players?
No that would also suck, I coudn't just upgrade my cd player or even replace it without replacing everything. Furthermore different types of media might need to be played at diffrent volumes.

an unsigned long on an x86 machine is still 32bits. You need an unsigned long long for 64bits on a 32bit machine.

you can't exactly floor it in a brand new car. There is a break-in period and doing so can cause permament damage to the engine.

That would probably be just fine. They had pretty good tranny's back then

Your UID isn't low at all. BTW if someone wants my UID I'd be happy to sell it, although I don't have much karma.

98 -> 98SE is more like OSX 10.0 -> OSX 10.0.4
OSX 10.0 -> OSX 10.1 is more like
95 -> 98
98 was just 95 plus bug fixes and Internet Explorer.
