Having a Linux box as a router is so unnecessary when you can pick up a fully functional D-Link or Netgear router for $20 that does everything you need, is vastly easier to configure, takes up significantly less space and less power, and makes no noise. Linux provides a lot more functionality, sure, but a home user with maybe two computers doesn't need all that. They just want to share an internet connection for god's sake.
Usually weight is used for meat and such in recipes, but volume is used for everything else. After all, it is much easier to fill a measuring cup up with one cup (240ml BTW) of flour or rice or butter than to use a scale to weigh out 500mg or whatever.
Try Greencine. I love 'em. They're like Netflix, only with a better selection of obscure movies, better customer service, and a slight sense of community. Of course unless you live on the west coast, shipping times might be a problem.
Yes that's pretty much how it works in the US. If you are salaried, you are considered "exempt" from overtime. Salaried means that you get paid the same fixed ammount no matter how much you work, whether it be 10 hours a week or 100. Of course what ends up happening is that they shovel so much work on you to do that you end up having to work more than 40 hours a week to do what is expected of you, otherwise you get fired.
What a great system!
One of my coworkers spends the majority of his day playing Dominos on Yahoo! Games. I got tired of it one day so I created an entry in his hosts file so that games.yahoo.com went to our company's website. He got so upset when he couldn't get into dominoes I swear he sounded like he was going to start crying.
Eventually someone ratted me out and told him I was the one who took away his Dominos. He confronted me, saying something like "Man, I thought we were friends. How could you do this to me?" So I took the entry out of his hosts file, and now he's back on dominos all day. But during the time it was blocked, he actually did do his work.
The GBA is already port wasteland. With the potental this thing has, I hope it doesn't suffer the same fate. Hopefully it wont get a single port. Of course I know that's impossible. Already Wario Ware and Metroid Prime are being ported.
And really, are there actually "millions of people" who still watch over the air television? Almost everyone I know has cable or satellite, and if they don't it's because they don't watch TV at all.
Xenogears is just as long-winded as Xenosaga. Maybe even more so. The entire second disc is hours and hours of cutscenes with a few minutes of gameplay thrown in here and there. And most of the cutscenes are the main characters (Fei and Elly) sitting in a rocking chair and reminiscing.
It's still better than Xenosaga. At least it had music.
Let's not forget Wonderfalls and Andy Richter and Firefly and all the other truly great and original shows that Fox was so quick to pull the plug on so.
But it's not really Fox's fault. People didn't watch those shows. They watch shows like World's Scariest Police Shootouts III and Who Wants to Marry a Transvestite Hooker. They don't hate their viewers. They give them exactly what they want. And rating have shown that reality shows about midgets are what people want.
It's simple really. Fox is in the advertising industry. If nobody watches the show, they don't get ad revenue. And if they don't get ad revenue, people get fired. So nobody at Fox is going to keep a show on the air that isn't making them money. If that means airing the trashiest trash imaginable, so be it.
No, I don't. Once I've read the book, it's no longer new or fresh. I know everything that's going to happen, so I find reading it again boring, even a book I really loved. Same with movies. Same with story heavy games.
You really wouldn't like Metal Gear Sold 2. Just as an example, there is over an hour of cutscenes and dialog between the second to last boss and the last boss.
I'm curious as to when this law was in effect. My 88 Acura Legend and 87 Honda Accord both had spedometerss that went up to 130 or so, but my 91 Ford Explorer only went up to 85, and had 55 highlighted as you said.
I make more than 40k a year, work in IT, and am an hourly, "non-exempt" employee. Being hourly is great. As soon as my shift is over, I'm out the door. I'm never officially on call. They can't force me to stick around late, only ask. And if I do accept, I get overtime! HA!
Oh god. I didn't drink Vodka for years because when I was 17 I got wasted off plastic bottle Albertson's brand generic vodka and spent a better part of the evening in the bathroom.
Then I discovered Stolichnaya and now it's all about the vodka.
Just curious why you call DVD "soon to be obsolete". What's going to replace it? VOD (not likely)? DVD2 or some other newer media (more likely)? Do you know something the rest of us don't?
Remember, VHS video tapes were king for 20 years. Even though the vastly superior LaserDiscs were invented around the same time (mid-1970s), and a superior tape format existed (BetaMax) the market chose VHS. The market has chosen DVD, and it is entrenched deep at this point. While a vastly superior technology may soon come along, I really doubt DVD is "soon to be obsolete" from a consumer standpoint.
When you're driving, you can't focus on your speedometer and the road at the same time. You focus on the road and occasionally glance at the speedometer.
It is hard to give your full attention to two screens at once. For most games, the second screen on the DS will probably end up being more of an information window that you occasionaly glance at. It seems rather unnecessary on a portable.
Nintendo does this kind of gimmicky stuff all the time. They come out with something truely innovative and clever but ultimately useless and neglected. See also ROB, SuperScope, SuperGameboy, VirtualBoy, e-Reader, 64DD, and GBA-GC link.
The first one I downloaded was a live version of The Cure's Friday I'm In Love back in the days when you could still download MP3s off the web (circa 1996 or so). It's probably been passed throuh about 6 or 7 hard drives or so, but I've still got that same file. Out of control.

If you made $25 million last year, you wouldn't have to work for the next 10 years anyway.

Maybe you should check again. Microsoft did indeed make a campaign donation to Kerry
Maybe. That's pretty much what they do in the UK to enforce TV licenses.
Where is 123 Fake Street? I couldn't find it on the map, and it's not on the list of locations either. This map is bogus.

Dear god! That's just about the coolest thing I have ever seen. I'm trying to find a name that doesn't result in a good acronym, and I can't!
Then I discovered Stolichnaya and now it's all about the vodka.
Bill Gates' desktop looks something like this

It's not uncompressed, it's lossless. You know, like a Zip file. You still get about 50% compression using lossless audio compression
