That's a great point about how people are behaving and how the game feels much less social. It's true that LFD isn't brand new, but it seems like around the time of Cat people got used to the fact that you'd never see each other again and were all too happy to toss you for some minor infraction (such as not having enough DPS). For those players that get kicked, it's a pretty un-fun experience and makes running any other dungeon much more stressful.

Check out places like climate.nasa.gov or realclimate.org if you want a good idea what the scientists currently believe to be the case. At least read the Copenhagen report that just came out a few days ago.

(I can see why climate scientists get frustrated dealing with this - I've taken a few hours to read and try to understand the basic science - you clearly haven't even gone that far - repeating what the so called skeptics say isn't the same as finding what the true arguments the scientists are making are)

I think CC is just in a tough spot. With the low margin business they are in its difficult to pay people well, and its hard to pay people nothing and get competent, happy employees. Expect CC to follow CompUSA in the next few years.

You had better watch your driving with one of these things flying over, because the brilliance of using RICO is that you don't have to be found guilty in a criminal court to lose your car. I bet they could make up the cost fairly quickly.

Personally I like the Ori and think they are a decent enemy mostly because of their creepiness and power. "Bad ancients" is just a way for them to continue to have a more powerful enemy in spite of the advancements that earth made.

It might be a different show .. a bit of a reboot .. but I'd argue that its still pretty good. Browder is no RDA ... but his character is alright. And I think Claudia Black is fun.

I don't think Sony is as dumb as everyone else thinks they are. They just sold another 100k plus Blu-Ray players. In the end they will drop the PS3 price to something sort of reasonable and sell plenty of them. They can make it through the first year or so by reputation alone pushing game developers to create for the platform.

Of course if they do too poorly in sales then eventually the games will dry up and they will have won the next gen format war at the cost of their gaming platform. I wonder how much they care?

I can't really argue with "well this movie is too old" or "the story sucked" ... but the fact is that they spent just as much effort (or more) on those sfx filled movies like Ben Hur as they did on Attack of the Clones. There isn't some magic thing that makes movies with special effects suck. And people liked them enough to give them high ratings, so ....

Btw - its a testament to just how good the SFX in Gump were that you didn't even notice just how many there were. Most of the movie is effects.

  25. OK, give the show a chance on Could TNG Stunt Casting Save 'Enterprise'? · · Score: 5, Insightful

Despite the fact that this is probably the last season being abandoned on a Friday night ... I think Enterprise is finally hitting its groove. I know everyone has their opinion, but while it isn't comparable to the very best of DS9 or even TNG, its certainly miles ahead of Voyager in terms of quality. I don't think its the casting that's necessarily weak - but probably more the characters. Still, TNG didn't have characters as good as TOS ... and DS9 was weaker than TNG until they brought Worf aboard. It took Avery Brooks until probably Season 3 or 4 to really start getting into Sisko ... he wasn't like Patrick Stewart who had a great screen presence almost from the beginning (sorry, it took me a while to get used to the bald captain :) ). Voyager never .. NEVER had good characters .. at least the new series has Hoshi :) And really there isn't anyone groan inducing like Neelix (which is strange - because the doctor kind of reminds me of him - just not annoying) or Nog from DS9 or Wesley (sorry Wil .. still think *you're* cool) from TNG.

Seriously ... go back and watch enterprise lately .. I think they are doing a great job. Not as good as it could be, and certainly not as "cool" (now the in thing is to be anti Star Trek) as Battlestar (now that we decided not to kill anyone for a female Starbuck and human cylons) or Stargate (but not Atlantis, because thats NOT cool in the eyes of the SF culture police) ... but they are making it entertaining at least ...
