yeah, go to hell those who agreed into loans they know they couldn't afford if their "gamble" didn't pay off./me signs for loans he knows he can afford on a "worst case" scenario. (Yes, worst case for me means working at stop and shop, walmart, and mcdonalds. I'm not mexican, just ok with working "below" where my education has taken me.)
I'd like to play make-pretend but at the same time have adult conversation (read: chatroom with a broadsword); I'd not like to deal with leet speak and spam about how much that new toon wants to have sexors with me.
Really. I tried it again after a year off, and yeah, the graphics are great and play on ANYTHING these days, however it just doesn't have the same hold as it used to. I'm playing Eve now, and yeah, it's grindy (all grinding, really) but it seems a bit more "adult" - maybe that's just it. The trial for EQ2 is going well, and that even seems a bit more adult, too.
Gangs are gangs. I've never done well in raid situations as I tend to get toned out (firefighter) for calls when we're about to enter the instance, etc. I'm always "that guy" who goes linkdead...
What I'd like is a game I can devote 20/60 minutes to and not really have to worry and think too hard about. I am a programmer, and spend all day in front of the pc. Lately, when I'm not in front of the pc I'm taking up things like working on my home, carpentry, etc. But when that game itch comes back, I can't find something that's a) free (I'm poor), b) mmo / social interaction, c) fun.
Well, I should say I can't find something graphical. I've been playing a lot of Materia Magica (a mud) lately...
If she is innocent until proven guilty - why does she have to give up her hard-drive and "prove" her innocence? Nobody is forced to prove innocence. The RIAA should be given the challenge, without her hard drive, of proving guilt./shrug (IE: external records, etc.)
On that F... that may be true, however the ideals of the students (though, not all of them who received that F) make way for the thought that they didn't deserve that F; that the cause-effect of work-put-in to reward-received is somehow this black-box that simply works on desire not actual work.

Clearly this is simply just a Java SDK upgrade or something....:P
Ages 7, 8, and 9... and they are all very interested in the computer; naturally, for the games. So when they see me programming (usually snippets for stuff on project euler) they are always asking "How can I make a game like WoW?"
The nine year-old is good at typing, and great at reading. I've worked with him on some of the different "higher level lower functional" programming languages that focus on children. He loves it. Though he fell from it when it became somewhat like a lesson and less like a flashy game. I think that, personally, is my biggest hurdle. Teaching without the flash, when I know they need to know the stuff behind the flash first. As they get older, the flash will come, but at least with my kids, they outgrow the "draw a line and the turtle follows it" stuff fast. Also, I have to admit, the oldest may simply not like programming! Which is ok too, I guess. Until the day they tell me HTML is a programming language.:P
Of course your site is going to eventually fail when it is constantly linked to online predators, and the "security" is built on top of Real Ultimate Freedom(tm). Compared to Facebook where you have to "link" to each other in greater detail, before actually being able to do much. I would assume that predators don't have that sort of patience. I don't really know, I don't have a myspace page. Just facebook.
The *cough* parents */cough* will get plenty of ptsd when they know we've found the dead child.
Me? I've seen plenty a beat up person - it sticks with you for a bit, and children always make you upset - it's part of being human, and part of why we train more, seriously, and (hopefully) better.
It is not a crime to go missing. - yeah, ass, I'm pretty sure it _is_ a crime.
Also, it's damn expensive; both for your family, and for the rescue services trying to find you.
I've only been a firefighter for a couple of years, and have only had at max two missing persons cases - none of which involved any sort of cell phone or record search... (did involve an autistic child, however) - but I can tell you that as a rescue worker, if I was trying to find someone and the cell phone company didn't release records in time, I am sure someone would sue for the PTSD that would come from finding a child's corpse in the woods that probably would have lived if the phone company got its head out of its ass.
Didn't we, not too long ago, think that the sun revolved around the Earth? Whatever we have at the time we write what we write is just that - wrong or not. It is up to the user to *cough*trust but verify...
That's not to say I won't go do some brain surgery after reading an article about it, but in reality, an encyclopedia is great for refreshing my memory on stuff I already know.
To find, first thing on the front page - a nice nifty dup. Glad to see nothing has changed. ;)

So, "Gimp 7 was your idea." ;)
Hey, tool, you missed the point.

Of course, we should see if it is indeed snacktacular first.
I just want my wife's breast cancer _gone_... it's been 3 years now, post diagnosis.
So, what you're saying is:
Squid saved your family!
I like it. :)

Your problem? You should admin the network so that these requirements can be forced. Lock it down, man!
I think, really, they mean "Open Access, Hosted Content, For Sale."

True true... maybe _that_ galactic core is the one that's asploding. :P
Now we are certain the galactic core is exploding...
No, the DoE purchases an insurance policy that pays on completion of the prize...

I went and became a volunteer firefighter - it's good exercise, and something other than IT to get geeky about.
So... potassium, huh?

I guess space as we know it would have to upgrade to class 3 pretty quick...
