They claim that he illegally took the code the he had written for the company -- which he co-founded -- with him when he joined Google and that Buyukkokten promised Affinity Engines that he wouldn't develop a competing social network service for Google.
It's just from the original post, but I'd assume he signed *something* at Affinity.
I wish this could be modded to higher than +5.. Because it's 200% true. Having friends who leave college as programmers, and myself having been working in the programming field since highschool.. I can certainly see differences in the way things are written, designed, and implemented.
XXX Box? Where you can only play BMXXX.. fiesty competition..
But in all honesty, if the price of the PS2 stays at 199, this thing (when it comes out in 5 years, after Everquest: the next expansion, Everquest 2, and Everquest for your bathroom) will probably be 400ish. I'll stick with the PS++.
Salaried people do -not- work overtime, as salaried people have no definition of "overtime". They are salaried for a reason.
Hourly people, otoh, work overtime. Just a little clarity as I often hear salaried so-and-so complaining about all the OT he works. You never recieve OT pay in your paycheck, therefore you are no an employee capable of working "overtime", and "I worked XXX hundred hours of OT" should not be used as an argument. The thought being, if you are salaried, you should be compensated more week-to-week based on 40/32/whatever hours, versus somebody who works by the hour and is capable of working an 80 hour week and getting paid for 100 hours... and so on.
Mod the parent up, it makes more sense then the rest of most of these posts. Hospital systems especially. Especially when they are non-profit, etc, they have no excuse to not have the network needed to keep things up.. Hell, I've taken our sybase machines out with a really really bad accidental query.. but, I was using a test system, that was basically an ad hoc machine. It's what it's for.

I like your idea, but you're forgetting about the rating on the top of the review. If you don't like reading bad reviews, then skip it. I like reading them because it helps with the impule buys (see comments below from others).
Maybe/. needs a filter on reviews? "I don't want to see any reviews under 3" or something.
Things have been out of hand since caveman A decided he'd sleep in Caveman B's.. umm.. cave. It's Human nature I suppose. Well, maybe Human nature when the Humans have an inflated sense of power. That's all countries. The Earth is the sandbox of the children that decide what / who is right for all.
Except for all the code that polishes user input with the "upper()" function... :/

What's the difference between this and using a task bar? I mean, why waste the CPU to tilt a window?
;)
Probably still has issues with true-window-transparency..
When a city has a population of 2 people per square foot, "accuracy" doesn't really matter...
How about donating the old computers your wife says are making noise to charity?
This "extra dimension" must be copywritten; I only paid for two. What should I do about this? Call my lawyer? Oh dear. :(
You're right. When they start outsourcing everything, they're that much closer to India.
I suppose it's bad I named my first born "GPL McGNU", huh? I guess his SSN will be flung around now...
There we go. Set this up to query, instead of a text file, slashdot's rss feed. With every ping response, it returns the latest news headlines.
Popular Electronics had a very very similar article. Punched out phone cards.. all of that stuff.. only they had used old breadboard. Yum!

Right, only now the webpage sucks because it's black and white.. ;)
Not to mention the programmers nightmare when he has to write financial reports against said database and code to ignore the "fake" records..
Talk about spec changes and scope creep..
I use SOAP::Lite all the time for production products, and processes.
And they're all also quering a RDBMS.. Where's the problem you speak of? You're just lagging behind a bit, it's ok.
