Go get yourself a $10 gravis gamepad. You will enjoy yourself so much more. I couldn't care less about force feedback, rumble packs and things of that nature. The gamepad will take care of most of your needs for any game that requires something other than mouse controls. As for steering wheels, I can see the benefit of using them, especially since it gives a more linear control for turning, but I don't think it is enough to even complain about.

"To that end, the Defense Department is now prohibited from purchasing any software that has not undergone security testing by the NSA. Stenbit said he is unaware of any open-source software that has been tested." By taking this literally, this would mean that they cannot purchase M$ software until it is tested, but would they not have to purchase it so they can test it? On the other hand, they can obtain the open source alternative for free, so it raises the question, according to the quote, does it have to be tested, and is that why it has not been tested. Sorry, had to say it. I know I am referring to the actual words, rather than the meaning behind the words.

As much as I would like to, you can't really blame Verisign for this one. The whois information is publicly available, and that is where the spammers get it from. The best way to deal with it is to register it with an invalid e-mail address which you can always activate at anytime, such as junkmail@domainbeingregistered.com and then you can always alias that address to a working address if need be. That is what has worked for me for years.

  15. Re:The brutal truth... on The Music Business and the Internet · · Score: 1

I believe this is correct. I do not think that downloading music has such a large effect on cd sales. Back when Napster was around, I downloaded a couple gigs of music. This was all music that I never would have paid for in the first place. I have not purchased a CD long before Napster and other P2P programs were available. I have not downloaded any music at all in over a year, but I still have not purchased a single CD since then. This may mean that I was nothing more than a leech, but it still goes to show that there was (atleast in my case) no lost revenue to the recording industry. I cannot be certain whether or not this is due to the high prices and the shitty music, since I wont pay $15-$20 for 1 good song. But what I can tell you is that I purchase movies all the time. Draw your own conclusions.

The way I see it, you called them for help, don't lie to them. In this case he may not have been as qualified to help and you should have asked for someone else, but lying to them is your own damn fault.
