  1. Re:Wii controller on Guitar Hero II Coming to Next-Gen Consoles · · Score: 1

"Have you ever played a guitar?"

Yeah, I tried. I know that electric guitars make thier own sound as well, but in terms of Guitar Hero you are playing with a band in front of a crowd. I have never been to a concert where I hear the sound coming from the guitar instead of the amp unless of course, it was acoustic. The point I'm trying to make is that is that it woudln't be "so much cooler!" if the sound came out of the controller. We are talking about a game here; a guitar with buttons on it. If one wanted it to be so realistic they would be getting a real guiatar.

That's cool you've been playing piano for 20 years though. I'm starting to take lessons again (I used to take them for a few years when I was very young). I bought this digital piano that actaully feels closer to the grands at my lessons than the upright at my parents house. I guess it's not so bad when you get used to it. The sound is obvoiusly different, but at least you don't have to worrry about tuning.

"Plus, having the notes come from the Guitar itself instead of the screen would be much cooler."

No it wouldn't. Are you on crack!? You would have sounds coming from two places. Where would you rather have the sound coming from, a little tiny speaker from the controller, or your home-theatre surround system?

Have you even played Guitar Hero? None (AFAIK) of the songs are acoustic anyways.

  3. Re:Wii controller on Guitar Hero II Coming to Next-Gen Consoles · · Score: 1

Dude, seriously, just shut the hell up. Why the hell would I want dinky little sounds coming out of the guitar? First of all, this isn't acoustic guitar hero, sounds come from other places besides the guitar in real life too! Second of all, the sounds would be crap. Third of all, a custom-shaped shell!? You can do that for any controller!

I can't believe this got modded interesting. Listen, if the game came out for Wii it wouldn't be any different. Yeah, a Wii-mote has a motion-sensor. That doesn't mean that every game that gets ported to the Wii instantly becomes the best game ever.

"but I would definately pick up the game if it came out for the Wii."

I swear, I feel like I'm in that episode of southpark where everyone starts buying hybrids and smelling their own farts. If it came out for any other system it just would just be inferior, wouldn't it? Stop being so smug.

If you have a problem with a law and you think it's unconstitutional. Boycotting a video game isn't going to change that law. Especially when a majority of people that have played blizzard games obviously don't know about or don't care about bnetd.

If they were being controlled by a magnet, I think the turns wouldn't look so natural. Maybe there is something we can't that's controlling them but it's I highly doubt it's magnets. If they were being controlled by magnets some of the fish would be violently thrashing yet moving at the same speed as a fish that wasn't moving at all.

Meh, they've been fixing and supporting CS:Source for so long because they take FOREVER to release fixes, and generally everytime they had a new feature it's buggy as hell, and they have to fix it.

I don't see why this is such big news. Valve has always been making little fixes and gameplay changes on CS:Source. They make changes on maps all the time. The radar thing sounds interesting, but in reality, it will make little difference. Newbies never use the radar, regardless of how helpful it can be. Skilled players will either die or kill the enemies before they can get a lock on them. Good communication works even better than the radar. A guy on voice chat saying "3 rushing the doorway!" is a lot more effective than try to hold your crosshair on one guy while the whole opposing team overruns your position.

Being a kid with no cash income and your parents were happy with their 75Mhz Pentium or their PowerMac 6800 made virtually impossible for me to play any of the new games. I couldn't play Starcraft for the longest time until my parents got a new PC. Did you forget that many computers from the previous decade didn't even HAVE graphics cards? I know just requiring some type of graphics card doesn't seem like a big deal, but it was 10 years ago. The current situation is no different. In fact, it's not even that bad. My Radeon 9800 is more than two years old and I can still play any game out there.

The bible, on the other hand, will never change, just more excuses or attempts of explaining fallacies and inconsistencies. If we treated science like we did the bible, we would still believe the earth is flat.

Beleiving in evolution and in God is definately feasable and sensible. Beleiving every word in the Bible as truth from God's mouth while believing in evolution is a different story, as it requires ignorance of obvious conflicting views.
