Looking at this poly play game reminds me when Krusty aired a Russian version of Itchy & Scratchy. The cartoon was really crudely done(think of the Cheat's animations) and there was a political slant. Okay, no political slant in Poly Play, but man look at that cheesy neon logo for the marquee!
And to think in west Germany they were making Porsches and such, and just over the border, crap technology like the Lada car. Funny!
go to the movies and I see a commercial that shows all the people that "lose" money when I pirate movies.
Those commercials aren't indended for legitimate movie goers. It's for the ones that are watching with a camcorder running. Then that commercial gets transferrred to the person who just downloaded & watching the movie via DivX.
Think of all the sticks of deoderant you could buy!
Seriously, Right Guard or Mennen should be doing sponsorships at these lan parties, given the relative levels of personal hygene at LAN parties and the like.
I bought UT2004 a few months back ago, and they automatically ring you up for free issues to either Sports Illustrated or Entertainment Weekly.
They bill it as "free issues for x weeks" when actually it's "Free issues for a few weeks, then they start auto-billing you". Who in Best Buy marketing thought that was a great idea? I instantly canceled as soon as I got home.
I think the next time any BB employee tries that I'm going to just grab the slip from them before they scan it in. I honestly don't need more shit charged to my CC.
I missed that place. It was never dull going there. Sure, the seating was an ergonomic mess, but where else.....do you get to see a drug deal take place?....do you see the owner yell at customers(usually homeless people, etc)...get panhandled for money from said homeless people?
That place was as Uptown Minneapolis as you could get.
one of the nice variants on the cybermen story was the "brotherhood of logicians" who wanted to join forces with the cybermen. Naturally, the cybermen just wanted to assimilate, um, i mean "reprogram" them. (tomb of the cybermen).
I get weird timeout errors. Stay idle for 30 minutes it makes you sign on again(such a pet peeve on websites), fine. But it was doing that to me for 30 SECONDS of inactivity.
2. The message boards are dead
3. Random error 500s out of nowhere. C'mon Google isn't supposed to break!
I bought Driver 1, and wasn't ever able to finish the first pre-mission where you have to do stunts in a parking garage. Jeesh, ease up the curve for idiots like me!
Nice to see Colony 7 is included with the Space Invaders pack. It's tiresome to see the same set of "popular" 80s arcade games over and over and over and over again in emulator packages.
Consider the fact that in my MAME directory ther's over 1800 games, many of them obscure arcade games forgotten over time. Mind you, I think a 3rd of them are just Space Invaders clones from 1979.
Ie this message is moreso for the submitter. Love the tone of your voice. We see almost daily MS lack-of security woes and now MS does something about it. Then you have to bitch about not supporing legacy this or that in the name of security. I think I would rather choose security. hell, all you need to be considered a computer security expert is just say "everything's insecure."
(tinfoil hat) I know wheresgeorge.com does this for fun, but how come Ashcroft isn't using serial #s in US dollar bills to track their journey from corrupt hand to corrupt hand in the name of terrorism?
Think about it: You withdraw cash from an ATM, it records the #s on the bills handed to you. 2 weeks later FBI agents bust an anthrax transaction, and some money is confiscated. The money in the confisaction found has serial #s on the bills that matched the ones givent to you by ATM. Are you a suspect now?
Seems like # tracking on bills would prevent any coverups by going "cash-only"(ie no bank transactions, etc)
But where does the problem have to be fixed? That's like saying Fedora Core 2 sucks because it includes GNOME 2.6. By your logic, the way to fix Linux would be to ditch X.
That's where we play the blame game. KDE! GNOME! All the developers for kde and gnome!
Probably which would be best would be to have some encompassing user-configurable one-size-fits all definition for hotkeys for "cut" "copy" and "paste". Apps & window managers read that and do what the user configures.
On a side note, I remember as late as I think the early 1990s that Target was STILL selling bargain-basement game titles for the Commodore 64.
Was that by chance at the University of Minnesota?
I love the Allied commander voice in WolfET. He does the voice perfectly. The Axis commander voice is every bit as good.
As for the soldier voices they sound a bit cheesy, but I'm betting its intentional. The axis voice command voices sound like Ah-nold.

...was when those 2 guys were talking and Robert Duvall was convulsing on the floor. Just loved the technical conversation as he was suffering.

Your story is a real-life "When Keeping it Real Goes Wrong".

wonder why these guys did not participate in the DARPA Grand Challenge?
Disqualified for running over Palestenians.
I wonder if they will bring back the Cybermen, or skip it in worry that it would pale in comparison to the borg.
Other than that, I can't think of any major villan race that would have the potential to be broughtr back.
Maybe the Sontarans? If so, give them bigger looking guns. I always thought they should have a magazine that clips underneath it.
Sad about the Daleks though, that was one villan race that was so incredibly well-tied to the Doctor Who series.
Just please don't let the series have any resemblence to the 1996 FOX movie. The only thing it had in common with the series was Sylvester McCoy.
This is true.

Will this be something akin to the Leftorium (a la Simpsons) where a retail store opens to an exclusive market?
If they wanted an even more exclusive market, they could cater to just left-handed Linux customers.

No, it's kind of like using the Redeemer from Unreal Tournament.
....and knowing's half the battle.
But how much would it cost more(or less?) to clean up a bunch of virus-infected machines?

Wait a minute, don't you and I moderate the twin_cities lj community?
This wouldn't have happened had they been using Linux.
No, the air traffic controllers would still be figuring out how to cut/copy/paste while a 747 is on it's final approach.
