I got fired from ClientLogic without warning. The morale of the place among the workers wasn't very good. Seems everyone I talked to had some bitchfest about the place daily. The turnover rate was very high, because they were being bitchslapped around by Bellsouth. Their rules were archaic, and we were stuffed into cubicles, not one, but two at a time. Forced to run programs that crash every five minutes, and forced to be tech support, sales AND customer service. Not to mention that promotion was only a $.10/hr increase in pay. Add to that the fact that the vending machines were always broken and that they regularly lay off half of their staff where I worked, and you get low morale.
I heard through the grapevine that we were getting paid $5 less than what we should have. And we were missing benefits. All so the company could profit a little more. ClientLogic was getting paid almost as much for giving us the privilige of working for them as we were busting our asses for them! And they slashed our benefits.
When is the Gamecube device to let you play GBA games on the Gamecube coming out? That would be worth purchasing, especially if it let you play games as if you had 2 GBAs linked.
I guess the US Military has this one won. Just show them a cruise missile and launch it across 250mi of the area and then crash it. Or if they want to be nifty, have a parachute warhead that contains the 'brains' of the thing and can deploy wheels or landing gear to deploy at the end of the course.
The real reason is that the machines from the Matrix and the machines from Skynet are in different unions, and refuse to work together in the same world, just to entertain us humans.
Money is what's wrong with game development. Someone puts it in the head of the programmers' management team that every day they spend working on a game is a day in which they lose money amounting to both operating costs and potential profit.
In fact, they seem to think that if you release a game half-done it'll make more money than a game that's complete.
Microsoft knows that they have money to spend. So they waste money for a few years while the other companies die a long, painful death. When those companies are dead, Microsoft starts trying to make money again, when they have no real competition.
I'll bet they'll start charging for Internet Explorer soon. What's that? You want to open device manager? +$200 for that add-on, please. That DOS shell is going to cost you there, buddy.

Whoever runs the story submission review department must have something against conspiracy theories. However, they also must be obsessive/compulsive. We often get the same story several times, but even more often do hundreds submit the same story, all of whom are rejected.

Tell you what. I'll give the RIAA and MPAA each five dollars a year if they'll simply stop trying to sue and get file sharing banned or whatever they're doing.

I guess Microsoft gets sole control of the 'trusted' keystring. Anyone else using it without paying them 'licencing' fees for it will be in violation of th DMCA. So sure, you can have Linux on your computer, but doing so will be illegal because our friends at Microsoft will refuse to sell out their keystring to make Linux legally bootable.
