No disrespect to you for your copy-pasted "motivational" post, but I just can't see Slashdotters running out in the streets to take a bullet for their right to prattle out shell scripts in bash while staring fawn-eyed at their anime desktops (granted, even though they MAY have multiple workspaces).

A lot of people whine and say L4D is crap in single player mode, but I like taking it at my own pace. If I want to dash straight for the safe room and to hell with my partners, I can. If I want to shoot them in the head, I can. If I want to stand in one spot and just wait for waves to spawn, I can.

But you can do all those things in multiplayer! You mean to suggest I've been doing it wrong?

It's amusing how you have to assume that I have limited experience to appease your own insecurities. I've been using Windows 2000 for years. My present uptime is four months, and this is being used for development and gaming primarily. I have noticed no performance degredation, and my experiences have been the same on several other boxes as well. I'm sorry that you haven't had such good luck, but all in all, Windows 2000 has worked great on average for myself and associates who I advise to use it.

A friend of mine is taking an English course online; all I hear about it from her is that they impose a tight schedule, lack a decent lesson on the material and the course has generally overly high expectations -- oh, and the majority of people taking the course have a much higher tendancy to cheat with their papers and reading assignments.

I'm shocked you actually received a positive moderation for your comment; perhaps it is a day of honesty and nobility for those with moderation points *shrug*. I agree with you, the interfaces Microsoft turn out are crisp, clean and intuitive. What you see as window managers on X11 are quite ugly hacks in general (though don't get me wrong, I quite like WindowMaker; even over KDE/GNOME). The only other interfaces I have liked are Aqua on OS X, and the BeOS interface.
