A million different browsers with no standards! And before you say it - we need standards before we get browsers, not browsers that generate standards.
For the record, between IE, Firefox, and Everything Else, just because OEM's ship the default browser doesn't mean that there isn't anything else available - it means more often that people are far too lazy to look.
And the site is dead. This is a hot piece of hardware though - dosent really suprise me that it's down already. ATI really needs to hit one out of the park with it to keep AMD afloat in the coming months.
That he can't be deposed on a weekend. The RIAA are already soulless drones who neither eat nor sleep. Why do they need time off like everybody else?
I pretty much just picture them much like Naz'Gul, although they are sleightly more motivated and they drive black sedans these days. Still dripping blood!
Betcha a dollar if they're over 13 and actually care, the internet isn't nearly as restricted as you'd like to think.
Not really the issue at hand, though, is it? Are your children of college age, living at school, and therefor not under your direct authority as a parent?
FFXI - Limit Break 2. Just... can't... do it... anymore. Finally uninstalled the game. zzzz
GranTurismo 4 - Man, 89% and I just can't keep going. One of the best racing games ever, but I think I may FINALLY be done. Bravo for making it compelling since release!
Onlink (Mod for the great game Uplink) - Blown cover and game over is a regular part of the learning curve, but there aren't any saves for the game, and when you have 36+ hours invested in a career and blow it from something stupid, it just hurts the soul. Still haven't gone back.
And it's downright terrible for professionals. My biggest problem is the "cartoony" look - makes it difficult to actually see what you want to do, and for anyone who'se been familiar with the typical menu interface for years, it's going to take quite a bit to get used to. The question remains - is it fundamentally better? And the only real way to answer that is to give it to people who haven't really been exposed to computers, or who don't have any behavior to un-learn.
And that dosen't seem to appealing to the corporate customers they're trying to sell this to. I think its an issue of an unnecessary GUI overhaul once again to make an incrimental product seem new.
Just too sad that I had to scroll through 9 bazillion comments to get to the biggest issue I took with this whole thing - I would say an awful lot of nice things about the company that sent me an actually rather attractive laptop. I like the Acer ferrari design - just wish that there wasnt a 400$ premium for it.
I'm not sure what was worse - reading the guy's rant about the unusability of Vista vs MacOS, or the insults he heaped on what is really a rather nice (if a bit gaudy) machine.
Maybe next time MS can save us the time and actually send boxes filled with steaming feces to bloggers, so the rhetoric will have some basis in fact.
That they choose to feature one of the most pompous asses on the professional (ugh!) videogaming circuit. Falls right in league with the same tactics they use for covering everything else under the sun I suppose - just would have been nice to see a change....
Seems to me that the work done on the fundamental archetecture dosent rely on the videogame aspect to prove success or failure - it's a radical departure in parallel processing, and will lead to inevitable advances across the computing front - literally from cellphones to supercomputers.
And no, I don't drink the Kool-aide. I'm just glad that Sony only has a part of the control over the chip - otherwise licensing the tech would be astronomically expensive, and no one would even bother looking.
Now I have to learn to use the metric system and do pound to euro conversions.
One of the only good things about the bloated EU legal system is that nonsense and crock like this would be lucky even to make it to court. More and more I am convinced that the judiciary is being bought out by the newest form of governmental lobbies - and this is coming from a sternly traditional republican.
My only hope is that the liberal money in this country eventually wakes up from pointless pandering for touchy-feely issues like the environment and gets down to the vagarities and rediculous loopholes in the system itself - changing a policy without changing the idea behind it is worthless.
Who are they going to call? The parents without the cell phones?
I am increasingly impressed with what was originally a very controversial nomination by the catholic church. May the forward thinking continue!
Sure. But what they forgot to include was the variable of EVERYONE IN THE OTHER LANE STOPPING TO WATCH.
This guy could use a shrub, or heck, even a twig would cheer him up!
Did the idea for the show come from a single inspiration, or was it a process?

At the end, there will be free therapy. And Cake!
And last time (hopefully) I ever cheer for the RIAA..... God, who can you root for here?
Look at the trailers page. Pointlessly large and confusing to anyone used to a normal webpage.

That most major retailers that I can still find XP at are cutting the price.... Makes it easier to pick up a 6-Pack ;)
ZZZzzzzz......
Not really the issue at hand, though, is it? Are your children of college age, living at school, and therefor not under your direct authority as a parent?
Sounds like both Thermaltake (Aqua RX) and Koolance didn't hear the news. Oh wait, thats because they've had blocks out for a while.......
Will it run DOOM?

Seems to be a bit like finding holes in swiss chese... inevitable....

Your spaceship is ready....
