Lies not in getting them to change shape, but in getting they to change either color or flexability. I find it interesting that there is at least one designer exploring the posability of shape changing garments, even if it seemed largely for the "wow" factor.
Highly impractical, and yet the inevitable evoloution of it is definately something to think about.
I for one fear our new robotic sentencing overlords. Seriously, this is rediculous - why not have a better judicial monitoring system if you care about the people?
Yeah, China really figured out how to handle malcontents the right way. Thats why there's not a huge outpouring of social unrest there these days.
Find then, arrest them, and jail them.
This seems interesting only in the way that a man shouting about the end of the world downtown is. The timeframe involved isn't really anything to get excited about...
Those drinking that many cups a day complained of chronic heartburn, discolored teeth, an inability to sleep correctly, and of course there's the addictive aspect.
What doesn't kill you today only makes you stronger - until they find out that it too can kill you!
I played FFXI the day it came out for the PS2 - On my PC! My friend had obtained the PC version, but wanted to play it on his PS2 (which was actually a better gaming machine than his laptop) and he gave me the CD's and the new ID#'s.
I played for a year and a half, and quit. Alot of my friends along the way had dropped off, and then SE went and ruined my job in the infameous "Ranger Nerf." I had overall enjoyed the experience, but I thought I was done.
I was wrong. 3 months ago, I picked it up again in anticipation of the new expansion, and I will say this: I played both Guild Wars and WoW in the interem, and neither presented the depth or quality of gameplay that FFXI has. I think that one of the biggest complaints about FFXI is the need for a party to gain experience and level; I feel quite the opposite. The game is really based around it's community, and whether it be a terrible party that you laugh about for weeks, or a great LS (guild) in the endgame, the social experience is a nice change of pace from the anti-social communities in so many other games.
The complaints about the dated graphics are valid, but the complaints about the fundamental system are not.
Do you get such a broad spectrum of nintendo fanboys. Let's face it - the guy DOES have a point. Any game that is heavily reliant on the controller to make a majority of the mechanics function is doomed from the start - you're going to add 20-30$ to the cost of the game for the attachment alone.
Standardized interfaces exist because it allows developers to map the controls they want to a widely accepted standard. I can't tell you how much it irritates me switching between games and having to learn a completely different control system. Games should allow custom controller maps, not require custom controllers.
I'm excited to see them prove me wrong, as I'm sure they will with one or 2 outstanding titles (preferably with something other than Zelda, Metroid, or Mario in the title, plzkthx) but the words "Glorified light gun" keep springing to mind....
I'm not really sure how relavent the old style labels are to the modern music industry. Strip away the hype and the fact remains that more and more artists are going independant, either producing or marketing their music on their own terms.
Sorry guys, but leeching off the works of others is old hat - time to find really, genuinely good acts, or put up "for Sale" signs.
This same thing comes up every time a game that only runs on one platform gets discussed. And guess what?
Mario Kart Ds dosent run on my xbox. I certainly can't play GT4 on my 'Cube. And guess what? I can't play CStrike Source on my PSP.
Linux is an operating system alternative - Valve is making plenty appealing to it's PC userbase, enough so that I don't believe it is even considering a port of steam to linux.
You want to play Half Life 2? Get a Windows box - says right there on the system requirements. You have to conform to their standards if you want to play the game; they crertainly aren't going to conform to yours.
Last I checked, you can spend your money as you see fit. But so can they.
Good thing there are legal protections in place for fertility clinics. Actually stems from a lawsuit against a clinic in an attempt to collect child support. Stupid litigation based society.
This guy went to E3 when he was 18, because he worked for a TINY news outlet, and he wants the show to conform to HIM?!?
Here's a thought - sell tickets for the opening day to the public. Make the next 2 days private - the first for retailers, the second for journalists (along with other corporate-shill scum.)
He touched on the importance of your boss staying current, and not relying on the way they used to do things - I am currently in an environment where one of the worst symptoms of "Pointy-Haired-itis" has reared it's head.
I work for a Doctor who owns his own practice. I recognize that he went through years of medical school to get where he is, and I respect that.
However, med school does not teach you Programming/Networking/System Diagnosis and Repair. It appears to have barely taught management.
When your boss thinks he knows how something should be done because he is a professional in another field, it is time to type up the resume and start passing it around. When you can't convince him of something because he "Knows" how it "Should" be done, your sunk.
Or are the only states on that list that don't appear to be blatent Tax-Farmers Texas, Nevada, and Washington? Why is it that none of the other states appear to contribute significantly to e-commerce, yet they think they need to tax for the products or services rendered elsewhere?
Thank God you can still lie to servers about your location (sheesh...)
And perputually strung along customer, I am happily downloading this for a number of reasons - not the least of which is the continual backsliding Square has towards it's Non-Japenese audience. There's a good chance I may still pick up the film, if it makes it out by then end of this year.
Consider yourselves warned square - your loyal fanbase will only take so many blows before something like this affects your bottom line.
I don't know about the audio quality, but for practicality, Iwill soon be buying one of these... to replace my recently deceased Shuffle.
I love the shuffle in all it's glory, but it is too damn small... The first one was replaced (under warrenty) due to a mishap in the washing machine. (noo good!) The second has died due to being left in a leaky car. Too bad a drop of H2O kills the shuffle permanently. They really should have made an ATTEMPT to seal it.
Although... It does give me an excuse to get the nano. All works out in the end.
Your assuming that the superior technology will win out in the end. Seems to me I have been through no less than 3 64-bit computers in the last ten years, and My newest has a chance of lasting more than 2 years simply because it is running windows.
Sorry, I really dont think the tech will win. The mony will win, as usual, when Intel can convince people that they not only NEED Intel processors, (when was the last time you saw an AMD logo, let alone a commercial, on TV?) but that there is no competition to speak of.
Highly impractical, and yet the inevitable evoloution of it is definately something to think about.
Oh wait....

Try going inside next time......

WoW is still HUGE, the Next Gen Consoles WILL sell like hotcakes, and people will continue to buy Madden well into 2020......
Sorry guys, but leeching off the works of others is old hat - time to find really, genuinely good acts, or put up "for Sale" signs.
Madden infuriated when told he would be replaced by a Crazed frog.
Forget annual updates - soon you'll be able to update your rosters for a nominal fee DURING THE GAMES!
Special Terell Owens Cellphone editions of Madden 06......

Makes the resistry a great place to hide serial authentication :p

You seem to be confused - it's 300-400$ for a new video card every 6 months, 4-500$ for a console every 3-4 YEARS.
For Bonus Points:
Burnout, and I hear tell Rockstar has yet to release a seminal GTA title.
Other than the one on the Gameboy, of course.
A Screen so clear you could touch it!
And Downloadable homebrew!
I don't want to interact with my games by touching them, or blowing on them, immersion be damned. You look like an idiot.

Verification systems that require any work on the consumer end will never work 100%. It's just too easy to get around.
And why am I buying the assinine secured player instead of the grey market Chinese one, exactly?
It's gonna be a basic design evolution of the 'Cube controller, with a gyroscope that breaks too easily.
