You're sharing information right now, your opinion. You cannot do anything active on the internet without sharing information, that is what it is for, and it is what we use it for, to receive information or to give it. I'm not saying you have to make your site acommodate the vision impaired, but, your website, even if it holds nothing but one word, is sharing information.
The web isn't about pretty graphics and groovy flash movies, it's about sharing information, this is very easy to do to even for the blind. But, few go through the extra effort to do so.
I still cherish the days with modem when I could see the goatse.cx pic load before my eyes and go away before it was done, now with DSL it's instant, and you think this is good?!
Actually, back in the day (94, 95 or so) a Swedish puter magazine targeting the most unexperienced of users, would grab a couple hundred or thousand linked pages and put them on a CD with their magazine to allow the readers to "experience" the internet withouth the hassle of getting a modem and all that mumbo jumbo.
Well, since it is standardized in ushc a way Microsoft can advertise it as an open language and not vendor specific like Java is, some Twilight Zone vibes there...
All Linux distributution makers think of is profit margins. Making the product hard to use and then charging extra for support is similar to MS charging for security when the product isn't secure to begin with. Hey look, it swings both ways, ain't that sumfin.
1.
1. A settlement of differences in which each side makes concessions.
2. The result of such a settlement.
2. Something that combines qualities or elements of different things: The incongruous design is a compromise between high tech and early American.
3. A concession to something detrimental or pejorative: a compromise of morality.
Yes, if they are already inside the country, can you imagine an american being arrested in the US, then sent to let's say Japan to stand trial? Ain't gonna happen.
By the way, kinda strange that you can't really BUY many of the p2p apps, but rather they come only as ad/spy ware sponsored by the same few companies. The claim that the developers need to do this to make money is thus utter BS. Make a good p2p client and sell it instead of loading it with crap.
No, watch the public rage against the fact that the Evil Internet was able to lure an innocent teen into it's grasp and corrupt her, then they will demand even stronger laws to protect their kids since the DMCA et al weren't enough...

Dear Kimberly,
It recently came to my attention that you are, on behalf of Wiley Publishing Inc. threatening the creator and maintainer of some creative works on a certain website, www.slackersguild.com with legal action due to what you state to be infringing on your "For dummies" trademark.
I can appreciate your company's desire to protect it's intellectual property, but I feel it is also my responsibility to guard my, and others, right to free speech when it is challenged and threatened in a frivolous way by corporations or goverment.
I feel in the case of "Slacking For Dummies", aka "Slacking HOWTO" by Nastard, located at the website www.slackersguild.com, there is no risk of confusing the satiric works with the popular series of books you publish. Therefore your claim that it is infringing on your trademark is, in my eyes, ridiculous.
As a result, I can guarantee that I will not support your company in any way by purchasing your products.as long as you seem intent on persuing this or similar matters by trying to deny the creator his or her right to free speech by frivolous threats of legal action. I will also strongly urge anyone concerned to not purchase any of your products should they value their own, and the right of others, to free speech.
Just because a browser may accept <Blink> or <Font> it doesn't mean you should use it. But, a lot of webdesigners don't bother learning what's good form when it comes to their trade/hobby.
I have no problem with what people do with their own personal pages, no matter what chaos they create. But, if you put something online for the world to see, expect critique if the world can't see it.
That's the problem with any right, if you excercise your right: "You people MAKE ME SICK." to free speech, you may offend a lot of people, what about their rights?
While I certainly do not advocate child pornography or the acts depictured, I believe that the site should not be blocked, but rather, if domestic, brought down, if foreign, go after the people who have actually downloaded the contents. (Which is afaik the illegal part, possessing child pornography)
In no matter do I want the goverment to decide what I am able to do, I want the freedom to do it and then I will gladly take the consequences of my actions.
Well, you could have called MS support, I believe the number is listed in the documents that came with your friends original Win2k Advanced Server box.

Can you sue yourself for devaluating your own company's ranking on your own ranking site?
You mean the very logical method of dragging my floppy to the traschcan? That really doesn't make much sense.
almost as fun as

yeah, but on the upside, Celine is suddenly tolerable
If it doesn't tip over and catch fire on the way to work that is.
Ah, I see Jon Katz is back, now under a pseudonym.

I strongly doubt the US will ever surrender a citizen to a foreign court to stand trial.
Excactly, we'll have intelligent creatures made out of not being ozon, ie holes. It's gonna be a confusing time for mankind...
How is this not fraud or theft?

Now just convince the gazillions of bad webdesigners out there to actually use the standard, any standard, please?
