Since we're into making OT silver bullet references...
In the Marine Corps, "Silver Bullet" is the term used for the rectal thermometer the corpsmen stick you with. It's mostly just a homophobic scare tactic to get everyone to drink water and not malinger.
Politicians salaries capped at the AVERAGE income of their consitituents. This way, its in their best interests to make sure that people have decent jobs, with decent incomes. Also, when a recession hits, they'll also feel some of the pain, instead of being insulated from it.
Almost, but not quite. I believe you want MEDIAN income. Otherwise you run into problems in certain places. Take for example, I don't know, King County WA...
The Mighty Mouse is advertised as being able to work as a two-button mouse. With a two-button mouse, I can click the right mouse button while my finger is resting on the left mouse button, and the computer receives a right-click event. With the Mighty Mouse, that doesn't work: the computer receives a left-click event, even though I "clicked" the right side of the mouse.
Not that I represent the majority, but last time I rested my index finger on the left mouse button was back when I didn't have a wheel. I imagine that if I had a Mighty Mouse instead of this Logitech MediaPlay, I'd rest my index finger on the ball vice the wheel.
Just looking at my mouse, I can see a worn spot where my middle finger rests on the right button; the left button remains mostly unblemished.
As I see it, no urban vehicle is going to catch on with buyers unless it has some, even if limited, cargo carrying capacity.
Tell that to the millions of moped drivers in places like Taipei. Though in this case, the unreasonably high price will be the show stopper. Green as it is, consumers won't buy it if it costs twice as much and you still have to pay the ridiculous electricity bill when you get home.
Engineers always say that if the suits just asked, the engineers would help make everything better. The suits, in the meantime, are busy doing everything but listening to the engineers.
Okay, so you say... but did you write it down? Type it up? Ignoring what people say is easy. A written document can't be ignored. Write a proposal, CC it to their boss. Even if it gets shot down, you are still creating a basis on which you can build future arguments/suggestions on. When your boss tries to stick it to you, you stick your memo or proposal to them. If you find that your technical suggestions are being ignored, change your approach. Speak with their wallet. All you have to do is show what it saves (the bottom line) and you will see action.
why not just grab the dvd while youre there? this idea sucks
I think he's assuming that the "rented" video can be timed-out or expired from playing by the DRM. Thus, you don't have to return the movie or worry about late fees. And yes, the idea does suck.
Galileo.
The GP mentioned nothing about "first".
Galileo.
It's Deja vue. As in, "already seen". Not "Vous" as in "you".

What? Everything seems to be in order.
-Scarface (there's even a bonus feature on the collector's DVD about it!)
-Mallrats
On a more serious note...
Personally, I think the US' obsession with violence and persecution of sexuality is indicative of a deeper social disease.

Here's a picture of the attachment for that mod (lower right panel).
Starcraft Galaxies?

My favorite part from TFA is slide 12 where the graph shows over 6 Billion WoW Customers by Q1 of this year.

I'm obviously in the wrong business.
So, if somebody develops capacitance gel that can be pumped in and out of an electric car, does that mean Arnold is going to be president?
How does this remove the firmware lock? A laptop without an OS is pretty useless if you ask me.
At least you did better than me. I read the article title as "Women Get Lots of Info From Male Feces".
Mod parent up for correct usage of Bernoulli trials and calculations for binomial random variables.

Somehow I find it hard to believe that when the next line in the chat is "yeah, what a fag."
Just posted.

Perfect!
I can set it up right next to my $20,000 20th Aniversary Mac!
