Surely if the product is worth it, i.e the value of using the piece of software outweighs that which you spend on it and that on a per time/money basis it is better than the alternative, then you shouldn't be balking at the price. When I get on a bus, I feel that the value I get for arriving at my destination faster, safer and drier is worth more than the amount saved if I walked. Similarly, if I pay $x amount for a plumber, the time saved, and money saved (for not having to invest time in learning how to fix a problem, or making a even bigger mistake) outweighs that person's cost.

Anyways, yes, I'm being facetious. This is a good announcement for everyone. I could never understand what the logic was by trying to hide what vulnerabilities were fixed in an update. This should allow those in charge of admin to reasonably evaluate the state and impact of the updates and vulnerability.

The manufacturers, will also lose out as they end up haemmoraging their own profits by reducing the return on research investments as well as losing the opportunity to build up a brand like Apple did with their iPod.

One the problems with OOP is that systems tend to be over-designed and overly-abstracted out.
