Why are people asking what kind of stem cells were used? It states in the freaking article: umbilicle.

Why are people stating the Bush administration limited stem cell research? He cut federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. Good. Maybe they should cut all funding for all research except for defense purposes and give the people their money back. If I want to support some tyoe of research, I can give them the money. If you want my money so you can do research, and I do not want to give to you, touch luck... I don't care. Robbery is a crime. Why are so many people obsessed with the idea of living in a nanny state? You cried and moaned and got angry with your parents for acting that way... then when you finally got out from under their thumb, you missed it and want the gov't to be your mommy and wipe your behind. Stop whining. Do something useful. If you cannot event admit that embryonic stem cell research is contraversial, you are a lost cause.

  7. Indiana on One Step Away from Changing Daylight Savings Time · · Score: 1

Being in the Hoosier state which is on EST all year round, rather than switching EDT, we have a unique perspective. Our legislation finally passed DST for us this year. We have heard all of the crazy rambles against it. These are same rambles that everyone is arguing about extending DST.

Here is something ridiculous. People do NOT actually think that we are affecting the Earth's rotation, so stop telling everyone that they are idiots for thinking so (obviously, there most likely are a few out there, but not the general populus). We are shifting our schedule so that we have more daylight during the majority of people's waking hours. Since we consume more resources when we are awake, being able to use sunlight for longer, rather than artificial lighting, we WILL be saving resources. The crazy thing is... I see mostly tree hugging liberals complaining about DST (that and the hillbilly portion of the conservative group). This is actually a move for better treatment of the environment. Now, let me qualify that statement by saying this is what I found in the debate in Indiana. Perhaps the national debate will not have tree hugging liberals being hypocritical, it is still young... we have been fighting for DST in Indiana for decades with the hillbillies being the resistance for twenty years, and the tree huggers doing if for the past ten when the hillbillies IQ, on average, seemed to jump about 10-15 points higher. Why were the tree huggers in Indiana against it? Because it was proposed by our recently gotten Republican majority in the House and Senate in our state government, and the end of a 16 year governorship by Democrats. The DST issue was brought up by Republicans, and they want them to fail... plain and simple.

So let's all agree. We do not actually think we are changing the Earth's rotation. We know that the actually number of daylight hours will remain the same. We also know that there will be some difficult adjustments. However, ten years from now, it will be a distant memory, and we will be consuming less resources because we have more naturally produced resources during the time when we will be using them.

Do not let this become silly partisan BS like it did in Indiana... we all know this is really the right thing to do, so let's do it. Liberals, for the most part, because we are being a more green society, and conservatives, for the most part, because it will be more economical.

I myself, being an ultra-conservative, economically, and a moderate, to slightly right, social conservative who rather side on the grounds of common sense... I like it from all angles. Save money, use less resources, which reduces foreign reliance on oil, increases security, and makes for cleaner air and water for us all to live with.

I am completely speculating (but so is most everyone else here), but I would think at least 95% of the people posting were not born or even in gestation during WWII. Heck, your parents probably were not either.

You have read a couple of history books that give you some highlights about a war. The highlights often have some spin, or perhaps your history teacher adds some spin to them. Here is a news flash... people die during war. Sometimes they die a gruesome death. Sometimes war is necessary. Many times, we would rather not go to war, but we must, so we do. And in all of the times that we go to war, people die. It is a tradgedy to lose a human life, but it does become necessary. It is painful. It sucks. It is life.

Quit trying to condemn people. You have not been there. You can say what you would have done... but not even you know what you actually would have done. It is the same BS that is going on right now. Just give it a rest, because you really do not know what you are talking about.

ISPs can offer filtering services, if we wish to use them, or we can buy software or security hardware, if we choose. Heck, PC makers could offer "secure" products, where the PC has all the extra stuff in it from purchase. Just keep the government out of my life! Or, perhaps it is that they just want to lie and mislead of others about it? Surprisingly, the document is written in clear and consice English... and very comprehendable. Also, the document does not make new laws or precendents... is merely makes small modifications to existing laws.

The best thing about the USA PATRIOT Act, in contrast to other items, is that individual portions can be made invalid if found to be violating rights, and that the document stipulates that the Constitution of the USA should be used to determine anything questionable. Sounds like the same foresight that has let the Constitution itself transcend time.

The point is, this is all FUD. I do not care if I get modded down; it will just prove what ignorance exists (the people who mod me down will be objected to the USA PATRIOT Act and be offended by what I have stated, but they most likely have not read the document).

I do not think that XORP is going to make a dent. Besides, a lot of places like to stick with one vendor. If I am running Cisco switches, I am going to be running Cisco routers.
