Also new things get more downloads. I don't need to download the Facebook app, I did years ago (and since deleted it too)
This, plus the fact that I think facebook is on most smart phones by default anyway? As is youtube? And probably the same for those other social media apps. Kind of hard to post stellar download numbers when you're installed by default. (or does it count update downloads too?)
That's what I was going to ask. Did they not walk out because the weather was too uncomfortable? Big showing for your cause, taking a paid break to hang out w/ friends at the company in the company break room.
I mostly meant the politicians rather than the voters. In the voters' case I'd say a lot of it is sort of a tribalism. A "Well I don't wanna vote for the dirty dems even if I dislike Republican X!" The ones that just vote Republican on everything no matter who or what it is.
(think about the commercials that say 'if you have medicare, you can't be denied for any reason. Fill out this form and get this scooter to ride around even if you run marathons').
This is always funny to see after having worked at a medical equipment company for years. Medicare (and most other insurance companies, usually they just copied Medicare policies) had strict requirements on a lot of things. Of course some doctors use and abuse this. "No, I won't update my notes from yesterday to have the correct wording. He has to come in again. No I don't care if he loses his oxygen, he needs to make another appointment."
I am still surprised that not more Republicans jumped ship after this.
In general a lot of people probably disagree with a lot in their party.... but are afraid to leave it because the only options they see are "join the other side or quit completely."
tweeting about baseball and saying he thought he might miss his rally.... because he was having a bad hair day. That's not "Trump being Trump". That's Trump signaling to the far right that violence is OK.
I had to pause a moment before responding, I initially took this as one of the silly things that "SJW"s say about secret signaling or whatever it is.
But other than me remembering that dumb stuff from Twitter or wherever, I completely agree on both sides. Republicans and Democrats really could've picked better candidates than Hillary and Trump. What a joke the last election was. I so wish 3rd party was some kind of viable solution in this country rather than whoever gets picked in the 2 main parties.
I was assuming something happened to voices in this story as well, especially with the line of: "In one of the strangest system admin tales of all "....... So it's the strangest thing ever, but it's just that a leak messed up phones? Nothing else at all happened? I'd think we could say unexpected or different but... "Strangest of all" seems a bit overblown. Surprised it's not the title of the article. STRANGEST SYSTEM ADMIN TALE YOU'D NEVER BELIEVE, YOU WON'T GUESS WHAT HAPPENED NEXT" etc.
When I was first in college, I worked as a temp in a factory over summer. I'll always remember an "engineer" there who would come by and try to see how he could improve the lines for packing batteries. He was all excited that I was an engineering student and kept asking me stuff to help the line personally. Except it usually went like this: "Would this improve the process for you?" No. "Oh ok. Just brainstorming a few ideas here." Next day I come in and he did what I said wouldn't help. And it made work harder.
Seems like he could've used some battery packing 8 hours a day for a while himself.
Early manuscripts tend to point to a copying error and indicate the original text as having 616 instead of 666,
I recall seeing something about the reason it is 666, is because 7 is considered a holy / perfect number. So the 3 (also a special number in Christianity) 6's represent being incomplete.
Also seeing this show up reminds me of some email from almost 20 years ago stating that Bill Gates was the anti-Christ. It said the mouse (as in us holding the mouse in our hand.. therefor it was like a mark on the hand?) was the sign required on the hands... And then it used military code or whatever to turn his name and some other name into 666. Then some hilarious claim that if you had some nonexistent version of Excel, you could open up a secret section of it with a "hall of the damned" list of names. I wonder if I still have that email, it was pretty hilarious in how dark and foreboding it sounded.
I also saw that Musk announced a Model Y crossover vehicle now. I'm almost surprised to not see that listed as a news story on here. While not being an automotive site, I'd almost expect news on a new model of EV vs just saying an EV company made more money than expected.
I'd thought the Model X was a crossover, but I guess it just looks like one rather than being the size of one. At this point I want to see Tesla make a motorcycle for some reason. Have it look like something from Tron.
Plenty of companies will hold off on shipping or ship things early to manipulate profit for certain goals. I used to work for a company that would meet goals before the end of the month, and suddenly all work would switch to cleaning, organizing, and re-arranging stuff.... Or if they were short, suddenly they'd start sending out orders several days or 1-2 weeks early to get that extra $$$ in for the month and meet the goal.
I'd imagine it's cane sugar + glass affecting the taste. I only base this off of my former roommate loving Throwback Mountain Dew and not liking the regular as much. And he only had
In general what you drink out of can also affect the taste. Glass, plastic, aluminum, etc. I've also heard of a study that makes it sound as though size can affect it too. I believe it was done by the IFT, and stated that a large number of people in their tests reported coffee as tasting sweeter when drank from a wider mug? Doesn't make sense to me, but apparently that was what they found in the study.
"The kid played with pure heart,..........after the dust had settled. "He just really had the ability, had the natural ability, and let it shine as bright as he could.......truly an honor to pass the torch to the new generation..... tears still in his eyes,
Such a dramatic description for playing Tetris. I mean yes, high level Tetris play is impressive to watch. But still it's just funny to see such bravado for playing Tetris.
I'll always remember my bus driver when I was in elementary school. He always kept a giant yard stick on the bus. If kids got too loud, he'd slam it into the floor as loud as possible and tell everyone to quiet down.
He later lost his bus driving license due to getting a ticket for driving his motorcycle at 120mph.
the current inhabitants were more or less created by and worshipped Satan
Was this really what was believed? I thought it was just this "They are savages and lesser than us because me are smart and they iz dumb and weird" rather than literally being creations of Satan?
with the Genesis story in particular being widely relegated to the status of a folk-story in Britain and Europe, even by church leaders
And weird, hadn't heard of this, with leadership thinking it was fake old stories. I guess I never try to look into what other's believe and whatnot though. Just seems weird to be in charge and not believe any of it, unless you're one of the ones that never believed and just did it for easy money (But I thought those were the TV and traveling guys in America rather than any in Europe)
So the big problem here is that the car didn't yield to someone (who was supposed to yield) and that person drove like a maniac onto the shoulder then flew across the highway? I don't think driverless AI is there yet. But the failure here was the man that was trying to merge, not the AI not knowing to be kind and courteous to others on the road. (which really, how many people on the road are kind and courteous anyway? this sounds about like a regular situation to me)
"used more words reflecting loneliness, sadness and hostility."
"used more first-person singular pronouns, suggesting a preoccupation with the self,"
"That is an indicator of depression in some people."
Most were not depressed, but 114 had a depression diagnosis in their medical records."
Saying people used words describing being sad and it also being on social media makes me also wonder how many of the depressed people were actually depressed... and how many just wanted to say they were depressed. I seem to recall a lot of posts on myspace and facebook back in college by people talking about being depressed to show off how deep they were. Or people joking and showing meme images about how depressed they are and laughing about it.
Also reminds me of back in the 90's a ton of people online trying to write their dark poetry about suicide and whatnot.
Too many people that seem to think depression is a cool thing to get attention with, rather than something serious that we should pay attention to. Not : "lol im depressed isn't that cool guyz? look at my pic of jack skelington now"
I feel like I recall something mentioning this 1-2 years ago. Stating that facebook was initially reporting the ads as having been fully watched, even if the video had only been on for 1 second. It was changed and cited as an error at that time also. Or is this the same event?
Some stupid make you penis grow ad, right along side a Samsung Phone ad, yeah the penis ad by associating damages the market penetration of the Samsung ad, it comes off just as limp as the bigger penis ad.
That, or increase the number of D pics that are being sent.
Dang. We've used stuff like solar, wind, hydro.... and now.... Time!

Step 4: Profit!

Mr. Berns said his ambition was not ...... to get rich
Sure thing.... Mr. Burns.

Hawaiians will also be included in other direct benefits from the TMT
What benefits will they gain from a big telescope being nearby?
Also.... it's literally just named Thirty Meter Telescope?
