  1. "make us half human, half artificial intelligence," "My faith in humanity has been a little shaken this year," Musk continues, "but I'm still pro-humanity."

A year ago he said something about AI destroying mankind. I think he's turning on us!

Not a similar situation, but this does remind me of something at my fiancé's school. There's some male teacher there that apparently it's a "meme" or whatever for the kids to go post google reviews of the school and call him a pedophile. Google reviews has TONS of reviews saying he's a pedophile and stares at little girls and boys.

Apparently it's because they want to take pictures of their review and show it to others for how funny it is. But it's weird that this is just sitting there untouched and undisputed.

  8. After all, you can't give back a hairdo,

I had a friend who was a hairdresser once. She worked for one of those overpriced salons at the mall. She was giving a little kid a haircut once. The mother decided she needed to leave for.....something? And told her that they needed to leave. She said she hadn't finished his haircut yet, and the lady basically said: "Whatever I already paid, we're leaving!" She then pulled off his apron and took him from the chair and left.

Of course the next day she complained to management about her son receiving an "awful" haircut and demanded a refund and his hair be fixed for free.

And also "of course" the management obliged and put in a formal warning against my friend. Because retail.

Also I didn't realize there was some big issue going on about cash being used. I've not seen many (any that I can recall atm) places say cash isn't allowed.

I wonder what impact they would have on the ecosystem to improve its situation? I'm not questioning or criticizing this, I'm just wondering what role they would serve. I recall seeing a video a while back about introducing foxes, deer, or whatever into some forest and the massive impact and improvement they had. Then again new creatures can also have a massive negative impact. It's interesting to see what one little species ends up doing.

I find this article a bit odd saying how clearly the $300 shows they made a mistake. It acts as if they are hurting badly.... but haven't people said numerous times that they are still making a large profit in sales?

Then again I should also remember/realize companies also do the "We only made 10 millions... we wanted 10 BILLION!" at times as well.

  13. Scientists attack Antarctica! on Scientists Drill Into 3,500 Feet of Ice To Reach a Mysterious Antarctic Lake (gizmodo.com) · · Score: 1

I guess it's interesting to possibly find something out from this ancient lake. And I realize this is different science. But it seems odd to be talking about global warming and ice melting, then we go drill deep into Antarctica with a hot water drill. I understand it's barely anything. It still just kind of makes me go: "Huh," for a second when I read it.

I'd hope we could find something interesting. But from another comment on here, it sounds like we found nothing interesting in a similar situation before.

This just reminds me of that What the Health Netflix documentary where at one point the narrator says something along the lines of: "I even read a study somewhere that said eating 2 eggs is as dangerous as smoking a cigarette!" and he then doesn't show or tell any more information on the study.

Then again this same documentary also had some claim (I can't quite remember it, so I guess I'm doing about the same as the documentary man now) about how if you ate carbs and no fat, carbs wouldn't turn into fat in your body????? Someone's a bit confused.

There have been so many bombings and mass shootings at music concerts over the past year to even remember without Googling. Fear of being killed at a music concert is something people factor in to the decision to buy tickets and go to live events. The demand for security is real.

While I agree that even one shooting is too many... I look at this and feel like the wording makes it sound like a bombing or shooting at a concert takes place very 2-3 days. I doubt very many people think that if they go to a concert that they are likely be part of a mass murder.

  23. This also reminds me of the bizarre shift I've seen where I feel like "the left" used to dislike jews. Or at least everyone in Israel. One year in college I roomed with a guy who was at least very anti-Republican. He said he was the biggest criticizer of the Democrats that there was, but the only criticisms he had was that they ever let the Republicans do anything at all. He frequently stated Israel was the scum of the Earth and he wished they'd all be wiped out forever.

And then I recall when Israel and the Hamas were firing rockets and whatnot back and forth, there was a weekend where "#HitlerWasRight" was one of the top trending tags on Twitter.

Granted it seems like a lot of people have always disliked jews and I don't know why other than old things of "A lot of them are bankers and tax collectors!1111" I'll always remember a friend of mine playing some custom Warcraft map in college, and one guy got made and said: "F THIS, JEWS" and left the game. He laughed and said: "I don't understand, since when is the jewish race an insult?" I responded by asking him had he not been on the internet ever in the past several years.
