I was thrilled when I tried T9, but actually I think I prefer not to use it :
for small words (and perhaps more problematically while less frequently for
long words) it is hard to guess how many times you will have to press
the "next" button. So it requires more attention than simply typing automatically
(especially without having to watch the screen while typing) : knowing that
pressing three times this key will give this character is predictable.

Take French for example: "Wii" sounds exactly like "Oui" ("Yes"), which is definitely a pretty starting point for an advertisement campaign

With two "i"s, I assume it means a long sound, and French "oui" is generally with a short one. Pronounced with a long "-i", it may even sound better (well, at least for a commercial purpose), like an enthousiast "OUIIII !".

Strangely, this is not the way Nintendo France is taking it : from their website : Comme on prononce "nous" en anglais ("as 'us', oops, I mean 'we' is pronounced in English")

This year the French government encouraged people to fill their tax returns (and also pay their income tax) on internet. People who did both would get a 20 EUR discount on the tax. This is not much, but it made a lot of taxpayers choose it.

A lot more than expected by people who managed the server, which was almost always saturated, and finally the delay for doing this was extended by one month.

It is not the first year it is possible fill the tax return online, but the first year I did it. As I understand it, in previous years you had to run a Windows program to generate a security form.

Now everything runs in java. Not everything is perfect because you have to save a new library inside the java bin directory, but at least I could do everything on my Linux PC with Firefox without having to switch to root (because I did a local install of java as a user and not as root).
