    I can tell you for a fact, the Dodge Durango (looked at one... once) has WAY less people and stuff hauling room than a Ford Windstar. It also gets worse millage.

    On my Dell Vostro 1500 (I have the 9 cell battery, aka "The handle"), I can get about 4 1/2 hours with the display turned down to about 1/2 brightness. This is WinXP.

    There is actually a pretty easy way around this. (Albeit, there are some variables that effect practicality). If I were to travel across borders and knew I had material I did not want seen (private photos? personal docs), I would simply sftp them some place safe and delete them from my hard drive. Once on the other side, I sftp my files back down. The border guards can search until the cows come home for all I care. Screw all that encrypted file system crap. :) PLUS, if my laptop gets broken or stolen, I don't lose all my important docs.

    Actually, bandwidth scales much better than this. I used to run 600~ Cable modems at 256Kbps on 4 T1s. That happens to work out to 6Mbit. Towards the end we were peaking often, but overall it worked ok. 400 Users at 200Kbps is reasonable in my experience. And 200Kbps is far better than dialup if it's your only choice. =)

    Ah, I wasn't aware that Limewire had this behavior. The rare occasions I used it in the past, I specifically told it to download to folder X, and to only share from folder X.

    I don't know of any p2p software that shares the entire disk by default. Torrent software only shares stuff you specifically tell it to.

    Ah. I only record movie channels. I pretty much have given up on TV. The kids need their cartoons. Other than that, I don't have a reason for it. Netflix gets me all my movies now. :D

    I have a DVD recorder. Does RW's. Basically it has replaced my VCR. Personally, I love it and wish I had gotten one earlier.
