Not only does it pop out which is not a problem, it says "Tap here to decide what to do with this". I am on a laptop with no touch screen. Would it have been so hard to recognize your hardware and put the approriate verbage? I have had people call me and ask how do they use that since they have tapped the screen with their fingers but it did not work. They really need to do away with "touch" stuff if it is not a touch screen device!

The old slashbox Old Stories that used to display on the bottom right side and showed the story headline and number of comments will not display. I made sure to check that box in my slashbox preferences, but no matter what I do, it will not display in either IE or Firefox. I did send an email to feedback on this but have heard nothing. This was a great slashbox as it usually displayed 2 days worth of stories that you could quickly browse to then read or comment on. Hope they can get this fixed quickly. I did check and uncheck other slashboxes and they seemed to work correctly, i.e. either showing or not showing.

I was able to get Vista Ultimate down to 10GB, which is still way too much! Running on a VM with a 18GB partition and 512MB memory out of 1GB on a 1.6GHZ Dell Laptop. After initial install and SP1 plus all security updates I was up to 12.7GB, unreal. There is a tool to remove the SP1 which basically makes it permanent but removes the updates from WinSXS, also turned off hibernation as I would not use it in a VM. Other cleaning got it down to the 10.1 GB but I still think that is too much for a new install. WinSXS should be self cleaning, I know it is the intent to keep you out of DLL Hell, but I remember XP only being around 800MB.

This may become very interesting. I live in a rural area, well really 10 miles from a major city, and since last Jan when Verizon bought a local provider (Cricket) my connection at home has been terrible. I used to connect to an Alltel tower in extended mode and had full signal. After the buyout I ended up connecting to the nearest Verizon tower which is 10 miles away and berely have any signal. All calls and emails to Verizon said they are looking into putting a tower up between us and another small town, that was over a year and a half ago and still nothing. If this means that I can again connect to that Alltel tower, which is only 1 mile away it would be great! I have my doubts but I guess I have to wait and see.
