  1. God Bless internet and Free Porn on Internet Use Grows to 69 Percent of US Adults · · Score: 0

You know the people modding me down are the ones downloading more pR0n than anyone else.

So go ahead, hit me with the -5 troll. You dirty slashdotters. I am doing everyone a favor by saying this cause slashdot is packed with way too many anonymous cowards nowadays.

  2. Look at PC gamer magazine on Big Rigs Makes Play For Worst Game Of All Time · · Score: 4, Interesting

Man, if you think gamespot gave them a low score you should read PC gamer magazine. In every issue at least one game gets completely trashed score-wise. Not to mention half the PC games never get released into the market anyways.

After Doom III and halflife2 I predict a long and boring period for PC games.

  3. Argh Blizzard on Blizzard Confirms Co-Founder's Departure · · Score: 1

Are we ever going to see another decent diablo sequel from this company? Looks like people are leaving left and right in this shady economy.

Not that 800x600 diablo II was that bad. But like capcom when the 2D-fighter team left, they haven't made another 2D-fighting game since. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was the last. Diablo II is probably done with too.

  4. The subscription problem on Bleak Future for Videogame Customers · · Score: 1

What worries me the most is turning every game company into a novell network. I can't imagine having to rely on a centralized point of service/servers for my games to be running. That's putting gamers on a leash.

I know of one person who paid $600 at one time for a version of photoshop. He claimed to have gotten lousy to mediocre support.

After a year or so of testing other software, he concluded that paintshop pro was just a better overall package. Less special effects, but 1000 times easier to draw with. Paintshop is about $100 nowadays.

Companies don't have a network with a million nodes of users playing the game. So they call it beta and get it into the market.

But at least they still call it beta. Microsoft releases windows and the real deal isn't the real deal until service pack 25 and 9000 hotfixes.

Sorry but you'd be an idiot if you didn't see this coming.

Game programmers require that gaming culture. That is not to say the Microsoft development group didn't have any... but let's face it. MS is a corporate environment where one wall is developing spreadsheet software and another is programming games.

Look at the company in Japan making Gran Turismo 4. There was some insane article on the programmer's lifestyle in game informer magazines. Live, breathe, drive and program in style 24x7.

This is why the press has to learn not to ever interview MS employees. Their answers are completely retarded 90% of the time, no matter how high up the ladder they are.

Didn't they ask Bill Gates what was the future of PCs in the mid 90s and he failed to mention the internet. iPod might be overrated, but Microsoft is really really overrated.

Preordering and early depositing locks you into a store. You never know when there'll be a massive discount on the date of release.

I have an ATI Radeon 9800 pro now, and I know it's supposedly the better card. But I can't deal with the poor performance in wolfenstein enemy territory knowing it doesn't make the library calls needed by an ATI card. Would it make sense to just sell this card and go with a Geforce FX 5900?

Granted halflife2 and doom III should ride better with ATI?

  20. This is a MS strategy on Halo 2 Release Date Slips? · · Score: 1, Interesting

MS are going to have this game launch around the same time as Doom III and half-life2 just so people think of it in the same category.

Though I have to admit I tried original Halo on the PC and was terribly disappointed. I think xbox owners are wowed by it cause they don't have much to compare to on that platform. As much as I am pro-PS2, first person shooters belong on a mouse on a PC.
